Default Ridley Feeling Blu

from the front page of this site:

Ridley Scott Feeling Blu

Posted September 4, 2007 by Josh

Blu-ray Disc Medusa Distribution, an Italian film distributor and exclusive HD DVD supporter, will release 'Kingdom of Heaven' as their first Blu-ray title. The move comes after the film's director, Ridley Scott, insisted that they release the title on Blu-ray. The acclaimed director joins the ranks of Steven Spielberg and Francis Ford Coppola as filmmakers who insist their films get distributed on Blu-ray.

awesome. my question: who's next?

p.s. gladiator please

I assume this is the "Italian" release.

Ridley is big time and the more of these big name guys that come out and say they want their product on Blu the better.

Sounds good that Ridley Scott is backing BD tremendously. Even though the UK already has the Region B edition of KoH which is for all of Europe, this is the Italian version which means an Italian dub track and subtitles are included. Scott's push for BD is the real meat of the story. Here's hoping more directors back BD.

Warner is bringing Blade Runner to both formats, so I don't think Ridley Scott would insist on Blu-ray exclusivity (though it's a nice thing to know that Gladiator would probably end up at least dual format).

Default WHO's NEXT?

Get Oliver Stone and Martin Scorcese to give their two cents, and hell, why not George Lucas too?

With Ridley Scott preferring blu, will we be able to see Gladiator on our superior format one day?
