As long it's not full of DNR, ghosting, edited, 1080i, or some other egregious error, we should be all good. The think the worst thing we'll have to worry about is some compression issues or not the best encode. Well, hopefully.

So Bullmoose got their stock in for this, which means no delays. Should start shipping tomorrow and I'll have this on Friday/Saturday. I'm really crossing my fingers there are no major screw ups. If anyone sees any reviews before then, please post here.

I doubt this label will do that either.

I'm excited for the title just like some of the other people here, but I doubt that this will do well enough that they would consider it to be cost effective. I assume that's what it is.

It's frustrating because far lesser films get better treatment, but often will have a bigger cult following. Especially with something like horror where even the most mediocre or bad horror flicks can have a fairly big following. Relatively speaking of course.

I'll post my initial thoughts of the PQ today. Won't be able to watch it fully until late tonight once my daughter is asleep, but I'm excited. Been a long time coming.

The German Blu utilized a StudioCanal master and looked great -- I'd be surprised if the Vestron disc didn't source the same master.

Hopefully the encode is just as good. The Japanese one used the same master, but the encode wasn't as great.

I'll be home in 3 hours so it will be great to see how this look, but to be honest I probably won't be tell if it's closer to the German or Japanese release.

My pre-order just arrived from Best Buy without a slipcover. Anyone else have this problem? I find it unlikely that this is the first Vestron release from Lionsgate that doesn't come with a slipcover.

My copy arrived today. I won't be watching it tonight because I'll be spending some time with Jason, but I want Duke to be the first to comment on it anyway.
I had never seen this film before until I saw Duke enthusiastically posting about it a couple of years ago and I rented it on iTunes, so thanks man!

Merry Christmas everyone. My copy just arrived. Gave it a quick spin and some thoughts. The Walter Hill interview runs for an hour. Can't wait to watch that. The PQ is an old master for sure. I'm not sure if it aligns more with the Japanese or German, but would probably say the Japanese if I were to guess. No weird BS that I noticed. No ghosting, lots of grain, no specks, but again still looks a bit old. Still one million times better than that crap Artisan Blu-ray.

It's an end of an era folks. I'm been looking forward to this for so long, that I feel like the dog chasing a car and not sure what to do that I finally caught it. Still feels good to have this in the USA. Should have been here years ago.
