Default What are the LOTR blu details????

I've been hearing a lot of rumors about the LOTR set...the theatrical and extended, just theatrical, etc...are the extended going to be on there? Because quite frankly I'd be pretty pissed if they weren't...these are my favorite movies so I'd like to see them handled well for the big re-release...although I have no faith in New Line after they snubbed PJ...I'm ok with Guillermo del Toro doing the Hobbit, he's the only other director I would say could pull it off...but I digress

Right now the LOTR set would only be the theatrical version, no word yet on the extended but its been widely speculated that the extended version would be out around the same time as the Hobbit movie.

I definitely won't be wasting any money on the blus until they release the extended versions. No way they're gonna get me twice on this set.

I am hoping that since Warner/New Line is going the DTS-MA route with Watchmen that they will do the same with LOTR. 7.1 audio would be nice too but we all know that is too much to ask so we will downgrading the sound from 6.1 on the DVD's extended editions to 5.1.

Same here...I've got the dvd's no need of double dipping for the theatrical. I like my Extended editions.

I'm hoping the EE's look serviceable enough upconverted to tide me over until PJ drops the ultra-mega-super-awesome-edition that features all the HD extended editions plus The Hobbit in 2013 or something.
