My understanding is that the non-German releases have the few seconds of cock-fighting removed. It is there in the German release.

Thank you, this was my understanding as well. Given one's druthers, no one should ever be allowed to cut back on your cock footage, effectively shortening it.

Didn't want to pay the import price for this and assumed they'd never release a regular standard release of this in the states (since it's been out on 4k for a while now with nothing locally), still hoping for a standard as I don't need fancy packaging personally. I sadly just bought the bluray instead a couple months ago. We'll see if they do a standard and if I'll upgrade a second time so soon. But the blu ray does look pretty good compared to my old DVD, if the 4k is that much better I'll be pretty happy and will eventually upgrade.

No. It was also done by Fidelity in Motion, so it is the same in terms of compression quality.

The German and French releases are identical disc-wise, I believe. They lack English subtitles, though, which for me would be a reason to replace them if this one is uncut and includes English subs.

I went ahead and preordered the Best Buy 4k steel. Hopefully it is fully uncut, and the cocks will frolic freely, untethered and unabridged. I gots ta know, and it seems like a reasonable gamble. After all, bloody attacking-cock footage is not illegal per se, hereabouts.

I can confirm the cocks be fighting in the US steel. Looks identical to the StudioCanal transfer as well, even the menu is the same.

I have the UK and DE 4Ks (one for English packaging and the other for uncensored discs)... Was really hoping for remastered BD to go with whatever version. I did pick this up today and open it. Steel is mint (these plastic sleeves really do help prevent dings), 4K disc is fine, BD has a scratch.

Just finished watching it and pretty good upgrade. But nothing like really mindblowing.

PQ - Colors more deeper. Sharper picture but a couple spots had heavy grain but nothing crazy.
AQ - Was more open and clear and voices was sharper sounding and clear. Some bass was more pronounced nothing to really wake up Subs

Overall, good upgrade but the Steel itself is worth it.
