Lionsgate will be releasing this on July 12 in a SteelBook.

Since its StudioCanal via Lionsgate, will it still be the same cut master they used in the UK or (hopefully) the uncut US version (which I believe they did use for the German disc)?

Why wouldn't it be the uncut version? Only way it arrives cut is if SC encode Lionsgate's disc with the wrong master.

Glad I have the earlier euro steel - that one’s a beaut. Will wait to see if this new encode is better than the colonel Sanders approved German version.

Which, as you well know, happens more often than not lately. So thats why, Geoff. So it's certainly not out of the question to ask, but you know that, too.

Just watched my import copy last week. It is one of the best looking releases on UHD, imo.

Tricky one to predict. Sometimes Lionsgate port the SC encodes straight across, other times they haven't (like First Blood, for example).

Nice, I'll get this. I got the US blu-ray not too long ago via a 2 pack, but I'd like to see the 4K! Glad to see it coming over here.

If this is the SC port or the encoding is done well enough, I will buy...otherwise it's on my list of UHD BDs to import. Definitely a wait-and-see as I am not getting burned anymore between SC and LG on sh*tty encodes.

Surprised this is getting a 4K release. Underrated film which for my money has Mickey Rourke's best work before he made his comeback of sorts with The Wrestler.

Shit, I’d watch Mickey Rourke make toast, and be first in line for the UHD. Too bad some of his brains fell out when he decided to be a boxer for a while.

And if so, is the German 4k the only uncut 4k uhd to date, prior to this Lionsgate USA announcement?

I don't see why it would be the UK version. But even if it was, the cut is really insignificant. The import releases are excellent; if you like this film at all, it's a must get IMO.

I think his follow-up to 'THE WRESTLER' (called 'KILLSHOT' and co-starring Diane Lane, Tom Jane, Joe Gordon-Levitt, and Rosario Dawson) was Weinsteined. I.e. The Weinstein Company shelved it and barely released it. Shame is was a decent thriller... far better than stuff that does get released.
