POLICE STORY (dir. Jackie Chan, 1985) – considered by Jackie Chan himself to be his best film in terms of pure action, POLICE STORY stars Chan as “super cop” Chan Ka-Kui, who goes up against a notorious crime lord in a series of escalating set-pieces that resulted in many of Jackie’s stunt team being hospitalised.

POLICE STORY 2 (dir. Jackie Chan, 1988) – Demoted to traffic cop after the events of the first film, Chan Ka-Kui is reinstated to the detective unit when a deadly gang of explosive experts blow up a building and threaten to blow up more if their demands are not met. Regardless, this is fantastic news! Time to sell my Criterion edition in order to make space. I'm also curious to know who the licensor is for PS3, as I had always assumed that Miramax had the worldwide rights to it.

it was, but via a crappy SD master.

the Criterion set actually included the theatrical cut in HD through an AGFA provided 35mm print scan.

It was, but as some gash SD upscale. And while Criterion had it in restored HD they got Jim-Jim the Dog-Faced Boy to encode it so it looks like crap.

This is the chance to supplant all of that shite.
