Default BenQ 5000 info needed?

Does anyone have one of these (BenQ 5000) and how are they? It says that you can use it with an anamorphic lens? Where can one get the lens and how does it work on the projector? Also can I use this with my 92" SI REF screen?

If you are referring to the W5000, then yes, I have owned one since Mar-09. I purchased it as a refurbished unit at a huge discount and consider it to be one of the best purchases I have made - biggest bang for the buck. I received mine in mint condition and with only 10 hours on the lamp. It's contrast and blacks are great, colors beautiful and is one of the few DLP projectors with an auto vertical shift, which allows you to adjust the projection up or down with the use of the remote. Before I purchased, I read various reviews and all were very positive. I am not using an anamorphic lens, but yes it has the capability to project an image which with a lens, can provide a 2.35:1 image (CIH Constant Image Height). In my room, it projects a 92" image at a throw distance of about 14.1' or 14.5'. I use a 92" Elite High Contrast Screen. I know many have purchased this projector and discuss it on the AVS forums. Hope this helps.

I've used this projector and whilst it is great, its weakness is its placement possibilities (and limited zoom). Either then for that its a very good unit.

? What mount did you use for it? How high is your ceiling? Did you use a pole?

This is the mount I use because of it's flexibility and large projector support:

http://www.vanptc.com/products16-21-10/Universal12Inch

I contacted Vantage Point and explained I needed it for the BenQ W5000 which requires an extra arm (4 arms in all) they sent me the extra arm and different size bolts at no extra charge. They said the projector is considered a "professional" type which is larfger than usual projectors. My ceiling is about 8' tall. No pole needed. Good luck!

So I bought me a BenQ W5000 open box for $1600 with no hours on the bulb. It has the newset firmware on it. I can't wait to try it out but it will be a few months before I move into my new place and get the room set up for it.

Just set it up in a temporary quick set up and let the good times begin.
