Default Grey Street Theater

<------------------------------------------------------------
After much research and posting, I have finally posted pics of my new dedicated Home Theater room. Thanks all for the input over the past few months.

Check it out and let me know what you think. As always, I'm already planning the next upgrade.

Couldn't help myself- today I finally bought a PS3 with extended warranty and HAWX to start my game collection. I wonder what the flight simulator will be like on my system and at 120"-- cant wait...

And I can finally play my copy of Rise of the Lycans. (The BD1400 will not play it!) The POS 1400 will stay put and become a cute lil cd player.

Ooh, which model did you get?

Awesome setup, by the way. I hope to go for the same style of setup when I get a home one day. I'd go with 16:9 as well specifically because of The Dark Knight.

Thanks Slm, I got the 40gig with extended in-store warranty. I plan on only getting a handful of games, and my primary reason for getting one is for blu-ray playing.

The new models, including the 40GB, have quieter fans so that's good. Did you get the Gunmetal Grey one with MGS4 or just the black one (too bad they don't include Spider-man 3 anymore)?

The black one. I believe I got a pretty good deal. With warranty and Hawx game(new)- it was about $420 out of pocket.

The gaming and media storage/playback should really juice up the HT, not to mention the lightning quick load times for blu's. I simply could not handle the sammy BD-P1400 POS anymore.

It is a good size- 14' wide, 15' long, and 9' ceilings. Its almost a perfect rectangle and has just the opening for the staircase and arched open-back wall (which I believe is good for eliminating rear reflection.) The front left window is placed perfectly so the curtains cover the right side 1st reflection point. (Got lucky there)

The 120" 16:9 screen is pushing it a bit for screen size at that viewing distance, but myself and friends have no complaints. Plus, the widescreen ratio slims down to 110" viewable which is perfect.

Added pic of screen shot with new PS3 interface and Kate background. The size of these images are still a bit shocking as I fiddle with the HT's new tricks.

It seems Kate Beckinsale has infinite-resolution-hotness. Doesn't matter how large the image gets...

I wouldn't be surprised if that finds it's way onto the background. And it's full screen 16:9 at 120"

I happened to flip over to I am Legend right now on HD Satellite service. Wow, its still kind of spooky, especially on the big screen. I may have to pick up the blu. The sound is excellent as well.

I'm pretty sure I'm getting a 2nd sub very soon. I'm thinking about SVS or eD.

I'm going to have to fire up Knowing tomorrow and see what it can do...

I'm been tossing around the idea of an additional center mounted above the screen. Has anyone done this or seen it before?

Theres a guy on the Klipsch speaker forum with a raised center, check the speaker section. It looks good and I'm sure it sounds great too!

NICE

That's exactly how I was picturing it. It just seems I'm lacking height with the screen way up there. I'll post on his thread and get some feedback.

By the way, thanks everyone for the comments and feedback so far.

I have an extra center in the basement, ever since I saw his I've been debating on bringing it up.
