Has there been anything in the rumor mill about a potential blu-ray release of Life as a House?

I just thought about it now, and that's a movie I would really like to own.

I never even heard of that movie.

Whats it about? No offence but sounds like a chick flick. Could be wrong, probably am.

i remember liking it when it came out when i was a teenager, but i could imagin that i would just hate it now as an adult. Tell that whiny little kid to shut the hell up.

Actually, this is a pretty good movie. It pops up all the time in the "Recommend a lesser known film" thread.

I agree, saw it a few years ago. While it's not a movie I would buy persdonaly it's a very good story. I would watch it again if I were to see it on a movie channel.

It is a fantastic movie. I'm happy with the dvd, for now.

Kevin Kline does a very good job and is the reason I enjoy the movie...Hayden Christiansen is in it as well...as a winy teenager (a role that actually fits him...ha!)

I honestly wouldn't expect this for a long time. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe this is a New Line release. They have been announcing movies few and far between, I don't think that one is on their agenda.

My wife told me to watch this a few years ago and it's by far one of the best dramas I've ever seen. I highly recondmend it to anyone all the time.

Yes, this movie and Shattered Glass show that Hayden Christiansen has some strong acting chops. I really enjoyed this movie.

ya he was great in shattered glass, first time he wasnt a winey teenager, i think hes really tallented but he hasnt really steped out of the box to often

I thought he was great in Awake, can't remember if I liked this movie or not.

Well, Awake was not the best movie anyways, but I think Life as a House, and Shattered Glass have been his highlights. He needs his agent to give him some more meaty roles like that so he can shed the whiny teenager motif.

Life as a House is an excellent film, and I look forward to the day it is released on Blu-ray. Sooner or later it will get a Blu-ray release, we just have to be patient.

I'm hoping that, like The Recruit, they will correct its aspect ratio when it comes to Blu-ray.

Hayden Christensen is really a poor actor. The reason he was good in "Life As a House" and in "Shattered Glass" is because those movies respective characters are supposed to be whiny so his acting fits perfectly. Give him any other type of roles and he would suck.

This was out on Blu-ray not to long ago, and now it's gone. Not sure what happened there.
