Bay Leaves Transfomers
Director has had enough of franchise. by Chris Tilly, IGN UK UK, June 18, 2009 - With Transformers mania currently gripping the globe, we have some shocking news for fans of the franchise - Michael Bay has had enough. According to a report on WENN.com (reported on IMDB), Bay feels that with forthcoming sequel Revenge of the Fallen, he has take the series as far as he can. "After the three-and-a-half years I've spent making these movies, I feel like I've had enough of the Transformers world," he explained. "I need to do something totally divergent, something without any explosions." - M. Phillips/WireImage.comA Michael Bay film without explosions? Say it ain't so! And in a sly dig at journalists, Bay added. "It's easy to go shoot an art movie in a winery in the South of France. But people have no idea how hard it is to create something like Transformers. They [the critics] review me before they've even seen the movie." Well IGN waited till we'd seen the film before passing judgement, and gave Revenge of the Fallen a solid three star review. |

He's one of the biggest flip-floppers in hollywood, they offer him money, he'll be back... And if he actually sticks to his guns and doesn't return...maybe they'll get a better director. |

What a dork. He says it's easy to shoot an art movie at a winery in the south of France. What's that all about? Doesn't he realize a movie like that would actually require a great script and excellent acting to pull it off properly. Isn't a great script the hardest thing to do?

After 3+ years of both movies, with hardly any (IF ANY?!) time off in between them, and the pre & post-production - esp. on the 2nd one - he's obviously burnt out. WHich is why that report came out about Trans. 3 in 2011 where he said he'd be willing to it but in 2012 vice 2011: which is what the Studio was hoping (2007, 2009, 2011). As for the explosions comments, again, dont' be so literal. He means for his next project or projects will maybe be smaller, more basic, in scale. Who knows. I'm sure the 2nd one will make a ton of $$$$, so he'll be good for a 3rd in a couple years.

This guy never liked Transformers in the first place. Thats why Starscream looks like a gorilla, Optimus has flames and lips, and Devastator looks like one of those little monsters from Gears of War. He made a ton of money, now he wants out. Nice. How professional.
