this is one of the saddest stories I've read all year. Kudos to Pixar, but it's just very depressing to hear that she couldn't hang on long enough to watch the movie, and her mom had to describe it to her while she was taking her last breaths.

incredible story, really puts life into perspective. reminds me not to take for granted the "litte things" like taking my niece to see "Up" this weekend (my 3rd viewing).

this story brought tears to my eyes, just like the movie. =/

Class Act, Pixar. Class Act. Disney has always been very involved in make a wish also. I remember about 5 years ago a little girl with cancer came into the Nashville Applebee's I worked at to eat. Her last wish was to go to Disneyworld, and she wanted to drive there from her home Kentucky. Disney gave them full passes and free stays.

Wow. That was the most touching story/thread I've probably ever read. That was amazingly compassionate of Pixar to do this for the poor girl. Just incredible. I teared up a bit; I cannot lie.

I was going to wait for the Blu-ray release, but I'm definitely going to see Up now.

It many ways "Up" is a great film for this type of occasion as it deals with carrying on after a loss.

Great job Pixar!

It is unfortunate, however, that they were not able to get a wheelchair for her earlier so that she could see the film in a theatre in 3-D.

With all the bad things you hear and see on tv today, it amazes me stories like this never make the 6 o'clock news. A very big salute and praise to Pixar for this. Not only did they show compassion which is rare from Hollywood, they showed class. It's just sad that these stories don't make the headlines. My thanks to Pixar and everyone who shares this as a sad but heroic story , especially the parents.

Friend of mine used to babysit her. She's been really sick for a while. She was just tired and ready to die. This is so heartbreaking.

I think if we could all try to make the most of the opportunities we get - to help someone else out, or somehow make someones life a little better, their pain a little less - well, the world would just me a little better.

Sappy, but true. I applaud Pixar for their effort.

yup great story, still on my list to see in digital 3d . someone wrote on the local newspaper ocregister message board, that they knew an pixar employee involved in this case, that one dvd was created, the only one to exist with Up on it, was taken to the girl for a private screening in her room, escorted by an employee. the commentor also said that pixar does honor such requests occasionally, but tries to do it as quietly is as possible, and wants no publicity or credit for these situations.
