If I'm reading what you're saying correctly it's kind of amusing to be worried that we'll get the extreme censorship of a deeply conservative region like the middle east and then hoping for *checks notes* extreme conservatives to win so that we... don't... get such censorship?

It’s best not to mention politics at all, especially when some people’s knowledge expertise begins and ends with complaining about compression artifacts

But but Lightyear is fantastic because you know Disney.

So it's my understanding that there won't be any exclusives from Walmart or Target for this? Or is it just too early to tell?

Watched this on Disney+ yesterday. Decent movie, but it lacks the fun and energy that a 90s movie in that universe should have. It's basically a watered-down Interstellar.

It's actually in IMAX enhanced on Disney+, those scenes looked stunning and the aspect ratio changes were handled nicely.

It was okay until Taika Waititi showed up.

I loved all of the characters... Not sure why a team of totally offbeat characters would ever be some kind of an unexpected thing in an animated movie.

Mo was a lot of fun, and Hawthorne was just terrific.

What makes you think the characters were unexpected? People just didn't like them or find them funny or interesting. My whole family enjoyed the movie and I'm looking forward to the UHD but it has some major flaws and I understand why it didn't click for some folks.

I'm sure some people might have, but I'm people, too. And I found all of the supporting characters funny, warm, engaging, and well-rounded. They make the movie a much more fun and enjoyable experience for me. They add a lot to the movie showing how everyone's cooperation was important in the end.

Watched this with the kid earlier today. This is one of Pixar's worst. An absolute borefest, that never should've been made in the first place.

Also a lot of those mech/robot designs ripped off the Z'Goks from 'Mobile Suit Gundam'. Pretty blatantly I might add.

IMAX Enhanced stuff looked great. As did the HDR. But that's about it.

I am streaming a ridiculous amount of content right now, will definitely take a break from that on the 10th and stream Lightyear right before I begin my 3 season Orville marathon.

Luckly the UK release is about 2 weeks earlier than the US.

What fun is it???
Mo is totally a screw-up
He has no talent and did nothing right
And he is ruining the whole movie
And Waititi keeps telling jokes that are never worth laughing
I guess this is the main reason people don't like this movie at all
You know people put their high expectation on PIXAR
not a just-for-fun cartoon from universal like minions
