If it's the former, at least them not being canon means they could come back in the future. The thought of cutting out Dinklage and Goldblum out of a movie sounds insane to me! If it was my movie, I'd do everything I could to keep them in my movie, whether it makes sense or not.
I assume that at least Goldblum's scenes had him getting killed by Gorr

I was surprised at Dio's "Rainbow in the Dark" at the end. I had been listening to that song a lot lately.

Four Guns and Roses songs and a Dio song? This is officially now my least favorite Thor movie and I haven't even seen it yet.

There's also an Enya song. And an ABBA song.

Dinklage was absolutely awful in Infinity War, completely terrible. I wouldn't be sad not to see his character again.

It's a shame they cut out Headey though, she's a good actor.

I was expecting rainbow in the dark to play during the black and white moon fight.

This is like Dune 2021 all over again, except in that instance, we had enough of a peek at the scenes to know that what was cut would have enhanced the film.

Why not release them on the disc and let the fandom decide?

Or, make it like the 3D: a value-add to a high-priced collector's release that is released exclusively in the Japanese market?

The scene with Thor sharing his power with the kids reminded me of Buffy's final battle.

TV Buffy or movie Buffy? It's been ages...

Contractual agreements most likely

I loved that scene in Infinity War. Part of why the movie is so memorable for me.

I liked the scene quite a bit, too, in fact I made sure the revisit that particular part of the movie (but didn't rewatch the whole movie) just to make sure I remembered the "origin story" of Stormbreaker.

Stormbreaker, Mjolnir, Thunderbolt... the stories they could tell!

I really wanted to believe that the scene was instead in Endgame...

BTW, has Hollywood officially put the kibosh on trying to make Game of Thrones actors become a thing? Because they've thrown them all at the wall and while some have made dents in the drywall, none have stuck...

Who knows? Maybe when Aquaman 2 comes out we might see Emilia Clarke as Mera.

Thor 4:

Domestic (45.2%)
$325,395,211
International (54.8%)
$395,100,000
Worldwide
$720,495,211

Disney no doubt considers this to be a financial disappointment, as it didn't reach the 1 billion dollar mark, and will have to be written as a loss for them. .7 billion is right on par with The Batman, which also was considered a flop, not reaching the required 1 billion+ mark for big budget films since Avatar's 2 billion in 2009, and Avengers 1 billion+ in 2012. Anything below that, is going to upset the producers.

Joking aside, .7 billiion is not bad, though I imagine the budget for this was a bit less, since a lot of it took place on earth in the suburbs.

Believe it or not, this had the highest budget for an MCU movie - $250 million.
