Default Should I sell my receiver and get a new one?

I had onyko 9100 home theater system, the receiver is HT-R960. It has thx plus, but the hdmi only goes up to 1080i upscale, it does produce quite alot of heat, should i get a new receiver, someone offer to buy my for $400, i consider upgrade to the Pionner Elite 03 or the regular 1019 for it. Should I do it? but i would had to stick with the current 9100thx speakers. Should i sell the entire receiver and speaker or just the receiver?

You have a decent receiver. If I remember correctly, it's a 606 in disguise. $400 isn't a bad deal for it. If you're considering selling the receiver, you might as well get better speakers while you're at it. Those speakers won't do the Elite justice. You'd have a sweet receiver but no speakers. That'll give you time to build your system.

Just hold off on selling the AVR. I sold my Pio Elite 84 series shortly after upgrading to the SC-07 but now regret doing that. I could have used the Elite 84 to bi-amp all my front speakers...I gotta spend money to buy an actual amp, when I eventually get around to doing that, now...

Don't replace it with a 1019 - you'll be sorry.

So, should I keep the HT-R960

A guy want $380 for the receiver, he don't mid that one of the hdmi port audio don't work, also concern me it over use watts, use 40 watts on stanby mode, i could had drop it off service location, but the hours is not convienice.

Some of receiver i consider the denon 1910 and pioneer 1019, i no longer consider the elite 03 because is not a authorize pioneer retailer.
