Probably too much to hope for that they will include the TV cut as an alternate cut. all the deleted scenes are on the blu-ray but i'm too used to seeing the longer cut which i recorded from uk tv in the eighties. watching the theatrical version is odd now as a lot of the cuts are pretty obvious

The Good Superman vs. Evil Superman scene alone is why I enjoy watching Superman III once in a while. It's just awesome and Reeves plays both sides brilliantly!

Obviously, overall the movie is campy, but it's a nice bit of nostalgia.

Default Superman III 4K UHD - April 3, 2023

Via AV Forums, listed on Amazon for April '23. No cover art as yet, or word on the other sequels.

Me too. It's probably the most comic-book of the four.

(In fact III and IV were the only ones that got their own comics!)

Meanwhile, Hot Toys even did a "dirty" Superman III Supes to go with the clean version!

Nineteen eighty-three was a great time to be a teenager. We got Star Wars 3 (well, VI but y'know), Superman III and JAWS 3D.

The three biggest franchises of the '70s! Now all we need is the JAWS sequels in 4K.

III before II, makes me think they might do something special with II.
Maybe a 4k theatrical disc from WB and a 1080p disc of the extended version from WA.

I'd love some kind of definitive tat-laden release of STM. Theatrical BD, SE BD, Extended BD, theatrical 4K and SE 4K.

They will make us buy STM, III and IV and then II is only available in a boxset
In a tat laden cartboard Kryptonite package

And I would buy it!

if they do a box set, they need to throw in a Supergirl 4k for good measure.

We never got the extended TV Cut of Superman II, prefer it to the Donner Cut.

The Digital Bits posted on 11/2 that SUPERMAN II, SUPERMAN III and SUPERMAN IV are all being released the same day. SUPERMAN II will include the original Theatrical Cut as well as the Donner cut.

I wish Warner would also release SUPERMAN RETURNS with a new scan from the OCN with an HDR pass. That 2006 master is really starting to show its age.

There is no OCN because most of Superman Returns was shot digitally on the Panavision Genesis HD Camera, with a final output resolution of 1920X1080.
