Currently on sale on Amazon UK.
Everyone knows, because it says [Region Free] in the thread title.

Thread titles here are kept bang up to date so questions like that never need to be asked.

Just bought this from Zavvi for €5.99
Cheap I know but reviews aren't great from what I've read.
Looking forward to making my own mind up about it.

It's 7.10 pound sterling ($8.67) direct from Amazon UK but you can opt for a 3rd Party Fulfilled by Amazon seller that has it for 4.86 pound sterling ($5.94).

Amazon USA has it for $9.99.

I've been rewatching this and it's a very underrated conversion. I think the 3D is really impressive and i love the moody look of the movie. There must be more smoke in this movie than any other lol but it really works with the 3D layers etc.

I wasnt blown away by this story or 3D, just okay for my taste. Always love Fassbender though.

I got the HK edition with the atmos audio but I haven’t watched it yet. The reviews put me off I guess, but I’m also at the point in my 3D career where I’m buying and watching stuff with quite poor reviews and finding that you can’t always rely on critics to tell you if a movie is worth watching or not. (Although sometimes you very much can, and you regret not heeding the warnings)

Have you watched it yet, and how’s the 3D? Regret it or recommend it?

Read the thread if you want thoughts on the 3D, there are certainly a lot of posts about it.

All the posts are just like yours… not helpful.

I get it, people hate the movie and it’s Dark and there’s smoke…. But is the 3D decent and have a good sense of depth through out, is there a bunch of ghosting or crosstalk. For those that already have the fantastic 4K disc, is it worth a double dip for the 3D (as its $5 on Hamilton)?

To be fair, if this forum was helpful, I wouldn’t have had to ask the question to begin with. For example… Batman V Superman 3D, good luck finding a decent answer on that page, as it’s just people talking about Louis Lane or giving their opinion about how much they hate the movie… But how is the actual 3D!!!

Some of the best 3D discs are the ones where the reviewers give it a low score and the forum page has no posts. i.e. Terminator Genisys, Exodus Gods and Kings, Live Die Repeat. Etc…

I just expect more from the 3D community here, but sure… tell me to read the posts. Come on, really. Thanks for ruining me day.

The below posts are not helpful to gauge an opinion of the 3D? Seriously?! These are just from the first 2 pages, there are plenty more.

They don't use it much as a storytelling device, but it sort of enhances the cinematography.

Movie - 2.5/5
3D - 3/5

Stereo D converted Assassin's Creed and it looks great in 3D, with mostly high medium 3D layers from start to finish, along with some strong 3D in there now and then, but looks great overall. I counted about 3 arrow pop outs yet this was not filmed with 3D in mind with framing that cuts off people's tops, and an eagle flying right towards the screen only to arch its wings vertically, where they're out of frame on the ends. Even so, great conversion.

Assassin's Creed 3D conversion: by Stereo D

3D Layers: 8/10 Mostly high medium 3D throughout. Really nice. Some strong 3D in there.
3D Pop out count: 2/10. Hardly any pop out effects.
3D creativity: 2/10. Made with 2D framing of characters.
3D Conversion: 8.5/10. This is comparable with Force Awakens' 3D and looks great.

I will consider this on blu ray 3D as the movie and 3D were entertaining with some very dry humor, and lots of great action fights and chases.

The movie's plot centers around finding an apple of Eden to make people subservient to the Templars, while the Assassin's are trying to protect it. Very silly plot focus aside, the movie kept me interested and the action was great, fast and action packed with well done and cool choreography.

Michael Fassbender really kicks @ss in this movie if that's him in most of the fights. Lots of martial arts, weapon attacks, pole fights, not much swordplay, but plenty of bow and arrows. The parkour does not disappoint, and the Animus historical city is very much right out of the games in terms of style and look, along with the trademark eagle, and the Assassin hoods and flick wrist blades.

I was entertained by the film despite the plot about this supposedly all powerful apple that is mechanical with lights, yet somehow based on the Bible. With the competition, this will likely be overlooked in theaters I'm sorry to say. Bad timing IMO going against Star Wars Rogue One.

[Show spoiler]ironically the present day setting and characters are more developed than the past ones, which is weird because the games have done an excellent job of developing strong ancestral leads and it felt like Aguilar should've been another big one. I sense alot of deleted scenes lol

what lend itself to the 3d really well is the action sequences, the 3d give the action sequences a massive boost, it enhanced the action sequences really well.

landscapes also look nice as well.

aerial and crane shots look nice as well.

as for the movie, I really enjoyed it, I don't really get the hate, I thought this movie is very, very underrated in my opinion.

Ghosting is almost always in the display, the only way reviews can help is if someone mentions it and reviewed it on a display similar to yours.

Similarly, I find some of the older reviews here to be in need of an update, and the official site reviews seldom if never post the display that they used. And yes, many times the official site reviewer sees 3D strength in the opposite way as we forum folk do.

Also, the answer to "is it worth $5 @ hamilton", the answer is yes. Any 3D blu NIB is worth $5
FYI I bought it a few weeks ago and it came with a nice (non-lenticular) slipcover.

I'm sure you're already aware and loathe to double dip, but I didn't find out till last year the 3D Hong Kong release has an English Dolby Atmos track. If anybody else hasn't picked it up, get the definitive release of this film before it disappears. Currently around $11 at dddhouse.hk:

https://www.dddhouse.hk/products/ass...d-blu-ray-2016

or cheaper at buyoyo.com:
https://www.buyoyo.com/buyoyo/Produc...98432&prtype=0

And add the definitive release of Flying Swords of Dragon Gate for another $11 (this HK release is the only version with an expanded aspect ratio [IMAX?]):

Oh nice - HK is an awesome source for audio upgrades. Some real surprises there.

Flying Swords of Dragon Gate is great. Got that one too.
