Sad to report I'm still having issues ordering from the US. In May I ordered 2 boxed sets and both arrived very damaged. And my July sale order never arrived. JB gave me a partial refund for the damaged boxed sets and full refund for the missing order, but these both contained limited editions, so after all this waiting I'm just out of luck. Really wish they offered tracking or any higher level of shipping options for international shipping.

My July sale order just showed up a couple of weeks ago.

They recently seemed to be shipping out very quickly and using tracking now.

I'm getting emails from Australia Post confirming the order was shipped via air mail and the tracking number shows up on USPS Informed Delivery.

My last two shipments arrived within a month of ordering.

Might just be my poor luck then. About a year ago I noticed when JB's packages arrive that they have an Aus Post tracking number on them, but when I inquired with JB about that they insist there's no tracking available for these low cost shipments. Seems so odd that they always include tracking on the package, but can never share that info with me so I can track it. That does me no good since I don't get the # until they arrive on my doorstep. I was able to finally get USPS Informed Delivery for my address just in the last year, and I have noticed such international packages show up in the system, but only once they reach the US. Again, not much help for a now 6 month old shipment. I order hundreds of movies each year, including from outside the US, and JB is the only one that consistently has gone missing. I hesitate to blame the US postal system since I've lived at the same address for nearly 20 years without any issues with them.

Reach out to JB Customer Service.

I've found that more often than not, these shipments aren't actually missing but that JB either shipped them out extremely late or didn't ship them at all and forgot about them, possibly because of backorders.

For example, in November, I inquired about a order that I placed in August that never arrived. Customer service apologized and gave me an Australia Post tracking number. When looking at the shipment history for that tracking number, it was only given to AU Post for shipment that very day.

Since I'm in the US, I've contacted JB after every single order to get a GST refund. I always get an email for their shipping notification, and then I request the GST refund and they always take care of it. I also have contacted them about every missing shipment -- 3 or more months after shipping notice -- and they've always responded. Sometimes we've have back-and-forth messages about shipments and I've asked about tracking every time. They've always said they offer no tracking #, even when clearly there is one. I'd estimate I've had at least 20 emails with JB over the last year and they've always been as helpful as they can be, and they've given me a refund for every item that's never showed up. Certainly no complaints with their CS staff. Otherwise I would not have returned so often. I really thought most of the missing shipments were Covid related as Australia had several major shutdowns, but my missing July 2022 shipment really throws me now. I'm generally ordering during sales and often buying limited edition items. They don't offer replacements, so trying to buy the same releases again 3+ months later when they're sold out or at a good price is usually not possible.

I've ordered from JB a number of times, but usually they ship soon after I order. This time it's been 3 weeks with no shipment of my 2 movie order. I know that their shipments can take months to arrive in the US, but I always thought the long estimated delivery date was because of AP Standard Mail, not as buffer to cover out-of-stock items. So I contacted them and got this kind of condescending response. Anyone encountered an issue like this?

Quote:
We can see this is an international order, which are only shipped from our Online Distribution Center.

We are awaiting stock at this location for BMX Bandits, once this arrives, the order will be shipped.

The estimated delivery date for this item is currently 16/3. This information was provided during the checkout process and also appears in your order confirmation. Apologies if you missed this.

We understand that it may not be convenient for you to wait so if you would prefer to cancel your order please reply to this email.

Please let me know if you need anything else.

This is actually very standard for them. Looking through all of documents and customs forms that comes with the package, everything gets sent through Australia tracked Airmail, not seamail, which typically only takes 1-3 weeks.

They absolutely use that 3 month buffer time to cover for potentially out of stock items or use that time to prioritize domestic shipments.

Can confirm, absolutely. It’s a fulfillment buffer not shipping (pre-pandemic and again lately at least). I notice items that I ship domestically often move the next day whereas my int’l orders can wait for 1+ months to ship out.

Dang. It's confusing to me because I've had JB orders take over 3 months to arrive, as well as never arrive at all. I find it hard to imagine how they'll get my order to me on that timeline when they haven't even shipped it yet. Either their delivery times are improving or I just have some terrible luck with them.

JB orders don't actually take 3 months shipping time. They very likely just mark your order as "shipped" but then hold on to it for 2 months. On the 3rd month, they actually ship it out via Airmail, which takes 1-3 weeks for delivery.

Why would they lie about the shipping date and notification then? That seems odd. And are they lying with the date printed on the package label too? Because I've received some that show on the label that they were shipped over 3 months ago. I've bought from so many places, but I've never experienced anything like that before with any company.

Go backtrack the tracking number that is on the shipping label: Link

I've found that they generally only shipped them out 1-3 weeks prior to actual receipt, regardless of when they say it shipped.

They should also generally show up on USPS Informed Delivery once the shipment information is sent to USPS and begins processing at Melbourne Airport, Victoria.

I've never really had any issues with JB Hi-Fi in recent years (except when they won't ship certain discounted titles to me), but my last order from 27 November 2022 has two in-stock titles in it, one of which shipped out on 7 January 2023 (sent Australia Post and tracked) and I received it a couple of weeks ago. However, the other title has yet to ship out and still shows as "Unfulfilled" on the order....after 10 weeks.

So, I've just e-mailed customer service to find out if they can sort out the issue.

I've just had a reply apologizing and saying that the order will be sent to a store with stock on hand to ship my copy out.

EDIT: The order now says the item shipped and the order itself is "Fulfilled". I wonder if I will get a confirmation or tracking e-mail, as I did with the other item.

Does anyone know if JBHF has stopped shipping to the US? Trying to order some items but each one says it cannot be delivered to my address and I have ordered from them before.

They are still shipping to the US. It is just those particular items that are unavailable for international shipping, likely because the only stock is at the store level and not the main warehouse.
