Hey all,
I come to you with a sincere question and I'm hoping just for your opinion, as I understand that it is nothing more than one person's preference. I will be attending Comic Con (For the first time!) this month, and I see that Fox is offering an exclusive version of Dollhouse Season 1. I've never seen the show before. However, I am a big Whedon fan and wanted to watch it, but the TV schedule sort of sucked. I'm a sucker for limited editions too, so I'm strongly considering picking it up at the show. Still though, the show cost is 69.99, when I could get it much cheaper on Amazon. So I'm conflicted. I was just hoping for a touch of discussion so that I could see other people's thoughts to help me make up my mind. Thanks to all who reply! Details on the Blu here: http://dollhouse-comiccon.foxstore.com/ |

It will mark a special occasion and is basically a souvinir of the comic con.
Plus it is a version that not too many other people will have. So if those things are important to you, then definitely get it. I'm sure once you are there in the all the hubub, you will be psyched to get it. The show was really really cool and one of Eliza's better vehicles. Definitely better than Tru Calling and with the inevitable dead end. |

I came away very disappointed by the show...it wasnt Buffy and it sure as hell wasnt Firefly. Now since you havent seen a single episode, its gonna be difficult for you to get an idea seeing as you will have people like me telling you they hated it while many will tell you the exact opposite, that being said I'd say since you fancy limited editions and all why not go for it, you can always sell it on ebay for more money then you will pay for it right now, ie if you dont like the show.

Personally I would get it, it is extremely limited and would be a cool way to commemerate your first con. There are full episodes on the web, although on imdb.com I could only find a few into the season, they are free to watch and you can get a feel for the series and see if you like it.
here is a link for episode 8: http://www.imdb.com/video/hulu/vi1332675353/ |

I voted 'no' although I am going to Comic Con and I did order it.
After sleeping on it, paying $25 extra for the exclusive packaging and lenticular 'letter' from Joss Whedon isn't worth it and I'm feeling a little bit of regret. Of course, I will probably be pretty excited about it once I actually have it in my hands. The last 3/4 episodes of the show are *really* good, btw -- but you will have to sit through a few pretty bad episodes at the very start. |

If you don't like the show, no.
If you liked the show but don't care about some letter and the removal of a critic blurb from the cover, no. If you liked the show and do care about some letter and the removal of a critic blurb from the cover, yes. I voted no. The show is mildly entertaining and is basically a guilty pleasure but I don't feel like paying extra for some letter I doubt I'll ever read nor do I care about a slightly altered cover. |

Great to see some of you have pre-ordered your exclusives. If you are going to be at Comic-Con, Eliza and Joss will be doing a signing from 6:15-7pm on Friday at booth 4129. This is a great chance to get your limited edition Blu-ray or DVD autographed (if you haven't gotten one, you can still pre-order at Foxstore.com through this weekend).

I'd say yes, but maybe keep it sealed for a bit. You nevr know what yourmind may think about after it's in your hands. You also might get excited once you see what they are selling for sealed. I'm with some other people on the board when it comes to the "special editions" so I say yes
