Default First Blu experience, what to get?

Hey guys,

Just bought my first HD TV, its the Philips 47inch ambilight. I also have a PS3 and just received my HDMI today. What should I get for my first blu-ray experience? That one movie that will scream out "welcome to the new generation"? My wife and I enjoy adventure, horror, comedy. What would you recommend??

Alan

Casino Royale, Pirates movies, Road Warrior, Fifth Element, and Hellboy are all good movies with great picture. Road Warrior blew me away with it's age and how awesome it looked.

If you want a kids movie get Happy Feet or Open Season, those two really look great.

Anything mentioned are great. 300, POTC, 5th Element.

If you really want to go on a ride, 5th Element or Total Recall.
Monster House is a sure win for the whole family.

If you like flame, GHOST RIDER. Ultra

If you get 5th element remember to make sure you are buying the REMASTERED one and not the original release.

Default Blu Ray

Get something that just came out and not a old movie if you want to see a good picture and want some good extras.

I strongly recommend Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest. The details on The Flying Dutchman and it's crew is simply amazing. You'll probably notice a few stuff you've never noticed before.

And of course, 300.

Default Phantom of the Opera

Phantom of the Opera was my first Blu-ray. When they hoist up the chandelier and the opera house is filled with the theme from PotO, and the restoration starts. You are so accustomed to the difference between the grainy B&W to the crisp digital color of DVD, then you see in HD and it is amazing. This one of my Wife's favorite movies and now one of mine.

The Warriors! hehe film looks amazing for being from the 70's.
Hands down Pirates 1 or 2, and Casino Royal.

There really are a lot more great ones out their just Pirates has the best presentation then any High Def as of now.
