Yeah I heard it sucked also. I got it though (haven't watched it yet). I got mine for about $15 at FYE because I price matched with Amazon and got the employee discount. A couple of my friends work there. It probably does suck though. A huge cheesy movie. I just hope it doesn't end like the Unborn. Although I kind of like unborn.

I watched it last night; it's pretty average. Thus, I shall keep it.

If you do a search on you tube for A Haunting in CT, you can watch the documentary from Discover Channel. There's 9 parts. The movie is different based on the documentary, especially the outcome towards the end.

I'm gonna rent it... I like the Amityville movies (well, most of them... the remake was bleh and Amityville Dollhouse is the worst movie I've ever seen) and this looks similar. The case was even investigated by Lorraine Warren, who also worked on the Amityville case (though she's kind of a wackjob).

You DO realize how ridiculous of a prospect that is, right? Out of the hundreds of people who say their house is haunted, how many people get movies made from their stories?

I just picked up this movie today and I gotta say it's pretty good. DTS HD Master Audio Rocks on this disc, especially the bass and I'm using a 7.1 analog connection.

Awesome AQ!!! and thats about it. Really, Lionsgate has 7.1 down and LFE on their horror films (seems like thats all they do) spot on.

DTS has a new (well, I've never seen it) intro to movies with DTS-MA

Bad movie, PQ 3.75 with some (I'm sure intentional) grainy scenes.

peace

I bought it as a blind buy. I remember the previews on TV, it looked pretty scary, so I bought it. It was pretty good, some spooky parts, mostly brought on by the audio effects, which are good when the surround sound is cranked up high.

Haunting In Connecticut, is NOT a bad horror flick.
It's a lost one ... def had lots of things going for it but got lost in plot holes and failed to develop it's characters.

I say ... def rent it. Horror fans should def consider buying it.
Got my copy, I saw it in theaters and really enjoyed it.

Yeah, but just how many of these stories are really true? I did a quick search on the true story behind "Haunting in Connecticut," and one of the major criticisms about it is that the family couldn't get all their facts straight. I read a book a while ago too that convinced me that the "Amityville Horror" hauntings were entirely fake. So as far as these two stories go, I am personally highly skeptical and dismissive.

There is a show in the UK (um, I forgot what it was called..."Haunting" something-or-other) where investigators go into haunted places with cameras and stuff. They spend the whole episode freaking out over little noises and things. It's often hard to tell what paranormal activities are genuine or not; in this case, we all speculated that the show's crew of the show are moving things around, while the cast acts scared.

So, in the end, I don't really believe haunted house stories on the TV, even if they are "true stories."

Weird that you say it failed to develop it's characters. As far as horror films go I think the character development in this film is pretty great.
