Just focusing on the top 25 films in this list, 18 of my top 25 made the list including all of the top 15 films in my list, and with the same top 3 just in different order— The Batman was my #1 film, EEAO at #2 and Top Gun: Maverick at #3. I haven’t seen 6 of the 7 films in the top 25 that weren’t on my list and one, RRR, I saw belatedly and would have made my top 10. Compared to the Oscars, 6 of the top 10 were Best Pic nominees.

Will definitely try to watch the ones I missed and many more outside the top 25. It’s always great to see what we have in common (and differences) in our movie preferences. I always look forward to this poll and the results.

Thanks to everyone who participated in this annual poll and most especially to thewerepuppygrr for a tremendous work— again (many hours— voluntarily and unpaid— poring through the lists, counting them, doing the stats and presenting them in a cohesive manner with all the photos and blurbs. It’s exhausting just thinking about it and I don’t know how she does it all by herself. You rock! ). Thank you, thank you, thank you. Until next year.

Great work werepuppy! It sounded like you had a rough time lately between the accident and home repairs, and I hope it's all going well. The poll results are interesting, and the pictures/text you use for each entry looks great. Thank you for running these for the past several years.

Also, thank you for using some of my quotes. I didn't even expect the one I made for EEAAO to be picked. I also enjoy reading everyone else's write-ups--there is a lot of good insight for every film.

Even Tar, which is somewhat underrated and at least I thought not as many people had seen, made it in the Top 10 which I thought was neat.

While I'm going to throw this out there, I want to preface with this is purely innocent speculation and in no way a dig at the credibility of this list, but I do hope there was no DC fanboy rigging again to boost The Batman. Maybe not everyone here will remember what happened, but at least that year, the film it happened to was a little bit more obvious when it ranked so high.

Even I ranked The Batman a spot higher than EEAAO, so I certainly can't say it is totally out of place. But I think it is worth mentioning.

My guess is movies like Aftersun would have ranked higher had more people seen it. Still glad it made the list.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

Some statistics for anyone interested:

Most #1 rankings: EEAAO (17)
2nd: The Batman (10)

Best average ranking [Tie]: The Worst Person in the World (5), Close (5)
2nd: Top Gun: Maverick (7)

Worst average ranking [Tie]: Turning Red (15), Ambulance (15)
Worst highest ranking: Bodies, Bodies, Bodies (5, 1 Time)

Most votes: The Batman (69)
2nd: Top Gun: Maverick (68)

Fewest votes: Close (8)
2nd [Tie]: Men (13), The Gray Man (13), Three Thousand Years of Longing (13)

Highest ranking film with no Top 3 votes: Triangle of Sadness (19th)
2nd: Bodies Bodies Bodies (49th)

Highest ranked with <30 votes: #16 All Quiet On the Western Front (28)
2nd: #23 RRR (26)

Highest ranked with no #1 rankings: #9 Glass Onion (2, 1 Time)
2nd: #13 Elvis (2, 1 Time)

Thank you, thewerepuppygrrr for a stellar job on this year's list. You rock!
Wow, Close coming in with the fewest amount of votes at (8)! Yet it still makes the “Top 50”. Obviously the 8 people who voted for it placed it high. I listed it in my top five at the very last minute before the deadline. I didn’t think it would be eligible for this year, but saw a few others voting for it. I also had mixed feelings about it. I thought the movie was really good when I saw it in the theater, but there were some things about it I didn’t like. The movie stuck with me though almost more so than any other film I saw last year. Very unique and very relatable. It’s definitely my favorite non English language film of last year. Just the fact it made the ‘Top 50’ is awesome.
