'Taxi Driver' up for pre-order at Amazon - Blu-ray Forum

I'm not sure whether this is a legacy from several months ago when its release on BD had apparently been announced or at least rumoured - but Amazon.com do have it for pre-order now. Here's the link:

Does anyone know whether it's been there all the time or just recently appeared? The latter would suggest that it might be released before Christmas.

I wish. It was announced along with Dr. Strangelove and that title got a release but this one didn't.

The pre-order's been up for a long time now.

That pre-order has been up for well over a year. It was rumored for a February 2009 release, but obviously that was months ago and there's been no word.

It was supposed to come out Feb 3 of this year. After this huge, indefinite delay, the end result better be damn good.

Departed looked pretty good.
Casino looked pretty good.
Raging Bull looked pretty good.
Aviator looked pretty good.
Goodfellas looked pretty good.
Last Waltz looked pretty good.

I'd say he has a pretty good track record for nice blu-ray releases. Taxi Driver should be no exception.

The only Scorcese release with questionable disc quality was Gangs of New York.

Ya think if more people pre-ordered this movie, it would come out sooner rather than later?

Idk how many people have already pre-ordered it, but I'm seriously thinking about going ahead and placing my pre-order, and I hope others jump on the bandwagon as well. If it gets a release date sometime in late 2010 or early 2011, then I'll thank myself that I pre-ordered it.

I just think that as long as it's available for pre-order (with a listing price of $25.99 - a reasonable digibook price), it's no question that it's coming out, it's just a matter of when...

Come to think of it, 2011 will be Taxi Driver's 35th anniversary.
