Default Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End

Being this my fave out of the trilogy, I'm wondering WHY all the reviewers complained about the PQ of this stunning BD release, saying it is inferior to the first two in terms of video transfer. Is it true?
ALMOST all the reviewers, except Blu-Ray.com

This is disappointing.

Watch it yourself, if you think it looks great then who cares what others think. We all have different setups and have different expectations on what to expect.

Some think that every single scene must be perfect; to me that ruins the movie experience. Grab some popcorn and enjoy the movie.

LOL I think the third one has the best PQ and AQ but that's just me. Pop that sucker in and judge for yourself.

Same here. I thought it looked great! All 3 disks imo, are reference quality.

I found it better looking than the original but not as good as Dead Man's Chest

You have nothing to worry about, the worst Pirates of the Caribbean blu-ray looks better than many many other movies out there

What matters in the end is what you think of the quality though.

GRANTED, World's End feature many dark shots. That could be deceiving. It's the way the movie was filmed.

It looks excellent in my opinion and sound terrific. By the way, it is also my favorite of the 3.

Fascinating, dark, mind-blowing, stunning and superb in terms of visuals and storytelling. SPARROW becomes a real hero here.

I just feel DEAD MAN is the weakest out of the three, but still a gorgeous movie.

There's something artificial about DMC's look as if they did some digital scrubbing to clean it up. (I wouldn't say they applied DNR, though, because there's still visible grain and the image is very detailed.) Still looks great, though. AWE has a dark and grimey look to it and the BD represents it accurately. It looks the most like CotBP.

An odd thing about DMC occurs at Timcode 01:52:16. As the camera cranes up, everything is moving except the film grain. It's stays frozen over the image as if it were a screen placed in front of the image.

I noticed that 'Curse of the Black Pearl' and Dead Man's Chest' are apparently mastered in 1080p, but 'At World's End' is mastered in 1080i.

Huh. I never noticed that misprint on the slipcover. The actual case underneath correctly identifies it as 1080p.

Note that although the box art on some editions of this release indicates a 1080i video transfer, Disney has confirmed that all Blu-ray editions of 'At World's End' feature full 1080p video. See related story.

The folks over here http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showt...ht=tier+system say it is the 7th best Blu-ray in terms of PQ, with Dead Man's Chest beating it at #6 and Curse of the Black Pearl losing at #25. All three are considered reference quality.

Just checked mine. Unfortunately both the slip and the case artwork both show 1080i on my end
