I’m guessing this is just for the upcoming 4K transfer of the film but on Blu.

Unless they decided to do a 4K UHD which would be great, but I keep thinking its a mistake on their site.

I thought it might have just been an incorrect listing of the upcoming Blu-ray, but they do have a separate listing for that as well, so it's possible they decided to do a 4K as well. It has a completely different UPC code too, which makes it seem more likely. The website often adds stuff before Kino announces it, but we should know soon.

Since the cat is out of the bag, this will be Kino’s announcement tomorrow and they’ll save the one they had for another day, lol.

Joan Bennett is great in this.

I'd buy a 4K UHD of the Lang films she starred in.

Not Lang, but a definitive version of The Stranger would be nice now that Kino is willing to release pre-1950 movies on 4k.

Super excited to see this coming to 4K. Will buy this even if I didn’t need to because I want to support these type of titles so we can get more. Hope this is a good seller!

This will be worth the upgrade. Kino’s 2012 Blu-ray is fine; it’s clearly sourced from a beautiful scan of high quality elements (possibly the OCN), but it didn’t have much-if-any clean-up, with white pops and scratches visible in every frame, cue marks left in, rounded corners in some shots, inconsistent grading, and distracting pops and hiss in the audio. That disc was done when Kino just left their scans as-is. Thankfully those days are over.

Was going through my wishlist, and was surprised to see this getting a UHD upgrade. Pleasantly surprised, but surprised nontheless. Is this the oldest title Kino has done as a 4k? Because I can't think of an earlier one, unless they decide to put out the Cabinet of Dr Caligari out like they said they might.

B&W 101 Minutes 1.37:1 Not Rated
A box-office hit (despite being banned in three states), Scarlet Street is one of legendary director Fritz Lang’s (M, Metropolis) finest American films. When middle-aged milquetoast Chris Cross (Edward G. Robinson, The Stranger) rescues street-walking bad girl Kitty (Joan Bennett, The Woman in the Window) from the rain-slicked gutters of an eerily artificial back-lot Greenwich Village, he plunges into a whirlpool of lust, larceny and revenge. As Chris’ obsession with the irresistibly vulgar Kitty grows, the meek cashier is seduced, corrupted, humiliated and transformed into an avenging monster before implacable fate and perverse justice triumph in the most satisfyingly downbeat denouement in Hollywood history. Dan Duryea (Larceny), as Kitty’s pimp boyfriend, skillfully molds “a vicious and serpentine creature out of a cheap, chiseling tin horn” (The New York Times). Packed with hairpin plot twists and “bristling with fine directorial touches and expert acting” (Time), Scarlet Street is a dark gem of film noir.
