Hi I have a Mitsubishi medallion series. I have my ps3 hooked up to it. For some reason with the component cords the only resolution i can get is 480p at best. Can i get an hdmi adapter or something? Also on the front of the tv it says HD 1080. How do I get it to play at HD 1080i?
And if you were wondering it has no hdmi hook up. Last edited by MarkisAwesome; 08-01-2009 at 04:43 AM. |

Ok so im not 100 percent on what the medallion series is.
Is it a rear projection tv? If so there are multiple component video inputs on the back. The only problem is most of them only output 480. I believe the one that says DTV is the one you want for 1080i. If you are currently running your cable box there for HD then you may have to get a component video splitter. Hope that helps. Again im making the assumption that its a tube rear projection tv. |

the medallion series should have a DVI connection in the rear for you to get a 1080 signal (looked at craigslist with someone with a rear projection medallion series and he has a dvi connection that he mentions; and a website selling a dlp medallion series also with a dvi connection)
it should look something like this ![]() just use a hdmi->dvi cable get one from here or wherever you like http://www.monoprice.com/products/su...02&cp_id=10231 |

Because of copy protection, 480p may be the best resolution you will get with blu-ray playback on the PS3. It sounds like that Mits is an older CRT rear projection. Hopefully, it has a DVI input like X400 listed above. If so, buy a HDMI to DVI cable( http://www.monoprice.com/products/pr...seq=1&format=2 ) and you should be ok.
