Help my friend buy his brother a t.v. for his wedding!! - Blu-ray Forum

Alright guys, here's what's up...My friend, real upstanding guy, who is a gang
enforcer is looking to buy his brother a cool t.v. for his wedding gift...

What's the best deal you guys see for around a G note?

He's trying to at least get a 46' with the best specs possible...

Says his brother is not the biggest sports fan so 120hz may not be necessary if the t.v. is a good deal....

Help a guy out!!

Is the guy even going to run a Blu-ray player to it??? If not... I'd probably get one of the 52-55" Plasmas that are 1080i....

Tough to say, considering I don't know the guys' situation.... I'd probably give him a $1,000 BB Gift Card..... much safer bet.

Does it have to be a tv? If there are any HDTV/blu-ray combos out there, then get him one of those. You just have to do the research.

I agree with the gift card but I would do one of those visa gift cards so he can shop around. That way if he wants to spend a little more and get 1080p he can. A lot of the times sears actually has better deals then BB but not it depends on the week.

Or CASH is king.

Not sure what he decided.... but based on this thread, I've decided to buy my buddy a Blu-ray Player (and I ordered two HDMI cables from monoprice) for his wedding.

Poor guy should have had the foresight to buy it for himself..... but once those chains....errr.... "That Ring" is on his finger, his buying power will decrease significantly!

I might order him a handful of movies too.
