? on 7.1 sound in 6.1 setup- - Blu-ray Forum

If I watch a 7.1 format movie thru a 6.1 speaker setup do the soundtracks for the two rear speakers just get condensed into and played thru the single 6th speaker or do you completly loose the 7th speakers' audio soundtrack?

If you lose one, which one do you think you lose? the left or the right?

yes, most receivers or pre/pro's would downmix the two rear channels into 1 center rear channel.
