Don't think he has a say in MGM, that's still owned by Amazon, WB is just distributing it. All he could do is just not release a disc of their properties and MGM would have to find somebody else.

Netflix doing the absolute bare minimum with zero extras for a quick buck.

They literally already have competed featurettes they could easily throw on there.

Netflix has nothing to do with this. It's MGM that produced this, and releasing this.

My mistake then. Why no extras though?

Sales are already on 1K on Amazon and DVD Only on 200 units who says no one want Streaming shows on Blu-Ray. This is pretty huge and good showing people gonna buy popular streaming shows.

I hope there is gonna be surprise special features on the set.

Sadly no, and the A/V isn't even a slam dunk. Site review is live with screenshots.

Kind of cheap and lazy to cram the season onto 2 discs. Good to have more content on disc and not streaming exclusive though.

There are only 8 episodes and blu-rays have a lot of space compared to DVD,
so more discs wouldn't be necessary unless some bonus features were included.

Sucks that there are no commentaries, deleted scenes or interviews. Would’ve loved to have seen the filming of the dance scene.

I got my copy last week on Mar 18 and I've only watched the first 3 episodes so far but its good. I don't have Netflix so this is my first watch. I was hoping for the Atmos treatment but nothing wrong with DTS-HD MA

At least with the DTS HD Master Audio it is lossless.

The Dolby Atmos on Netflix is probably no higher than 600kbps (CD quality essentially). That’s the high end for streaming.

Well at least it says it outpaces the streaming version so that is at least something. But yeah could have put some extras on it. Still gonna buy it because its such a good fun entertaining show.

The stream is in 4K Dolby Vision. I'd be surprised if the BD was better, especially given it's middling rating for PQ here. The sentence in the review that makes that claim comes off more as an assumption that physical discs are "by default" better than streaming, which is definitely not always the case.

Hmm Why so Blu Review has given this 5 Stars out of 5. Wanna judge this for myself.

Well, yeah, I'm sure in a direct competition it'd be no contest. My complaint was that, like the visuals (4K/HDR on streaming), it's annoying that the source format wasn't preserved.

It's kind of a gray area, and probably not one I'd ever like to dig into on a case-by-case basis for reviews. Physical media usually wins, of course, but the main problem is there's not really a common base point for comparison since streaming quality can vary greatly depending on connection speed and subscription level (not everybody pays for 4K/HDR Netflix), not to mention what TV you're using. I'll probably avoiding making that kind of stream-vs.-disc claim in future reviews for that reason and just judge the disc as-is, but you may very well be right in that a top-level 4K/HDR stream with a strong connection might be the winner in a side-by-side comparison.

It's just one more case where the media landscape has changed over the years and we've no choice but to navigate new territory as best we can. Who'd have thought we'd be having this conversation 15 or 20 years ago?

The 4K/HDR might be slightly better in certain respects but the audio will still be better on disc. I wish it had a 4K disc release, too. Would have been an instant buy.

There have been rare cases where streaming shows initially only released on Blu-ray got a 4K re-release later down the line (All Quiet on the Western Front comes to mind)... but that wasn't through WB, so who knows?

I'm only three episodes in and can't compare it to the Netflix broadcast but I think the P/Q is quite good, I tried it both on my Samsung QN90B and LG G2 no complaints on either one.
