I hope it does, though not expecting it since the prior 2 didn’t, but it is Disney now not Fox also. Especially the opening highway part in the first I think would have looked amazing in 3D.

But one price will drop significantly b/w now and next week probably and nearly 100% by release, the other will not.

If no other reason b/c every other 3D listing price has done so. I fully expect the Amaray to drop to 7300-7500Y within a few days.

Also if you select the fastest shipping (i know cost a little more) the steelbook comes in a larger box also better protected.

I enjoyed The Marvels more than I enjoyed Guardians 3. Guardians 3 should have picked a tone and stuck with it. I was getting tonal whiplash with the sombre Rocket scenes and the forced humour of the rest of the Guardians. I found The Marvels consistently funny. Just my opinion as I get why some people hated The Marvels. Oh, the 3D is miles better in The Marvels than Guardians 3.

If I recall for people that place their order from Amazon Japan after the shipping costs go down it's a price difference of like 2 or 3 dollars? Very negligible on a $60-70 purchase and for that price difference you get a movie delivered expeditiously with tracking from DHL - often in time to watch that same weekend of release.

If I'm not mistaken, the price difference after the shipping costs drop is usually $15 to $20. So it's worth keeping an eye on.

Maybe you're confusing the Priority vs Std shipping difference which often is a few dollar difference

The latter has been teh typical pattern - at least to the US and along with the usual item price drop has resulted in at least $30-35 cost drop from a Day 1 preorder. The item price drop should be covered by Amazon, the shipping price drop has not though some have had success in getting Amazon to refund the difference afterwards.

Current Shipping to the US for THE MARVELS 4K/3D
4634 std
5158 Priority

Current shipping to the US for a current 4K/3D release
2865 std
3100 Priority

I suspect the preorder vs current release shipping difference may be an estimated weight issue that Amazon takes the most conservative route and overestimates. Once the std item gets close to the shipping and has a KNOWN weight the shipping seems to normalize. 2000 Y is currently around $14 (+ local tax). Add the usual item release day price and that;s another 2000-2500 Y so an additional $13-15 drop.

Personally my bent is not only to wait, but to wait for at least 3 items to be available since an added itme only adds a few dollars to the shipping. My last 5 item catchup order cost 4200Y total Priority shipping so roughly $7 for the added 4 items vs a single item

I probably wasn't clear, I was referring to Amazon orders vs YesAsia.

I only order with the priority shipping, but even with that I seem to recall a couple of these Marvel imports where my order ended up costing barely more than some people's YesAsia orders. Like they saved 1 to 3 bucks or something and waited waaay longer to get their movie.

I think a lot of people see the Amazon price and freak out and rush over to order from YesAsia instead of just waiting for the inevitable price and shipping costs to go down on Amazon.

Yep, I always place the pre-order right away just to make sure I don't miss it or forget later. Then I generally cancel and re-order after the price drops on the item and shipping.

Watched it with 3D in cinema. I believe 3D help lift the interest factor of the movie by 3 folds. Tons of 3D actions from start to finish. BTW the last Antman 3 3D was way too dim than normal. Worst than cinema if I remember correctly. Hope it is not the case this time.

Got it for $70.29 at yes Asia. They don't charge tax to certain States so that's more than $27 less than Amazon Japan. Though the pre-order price will probably go down, doubt it will be by that amount. And by using PayPal divided it into four payments (actually two since two this coming billing period and two the next one)

Different kettle. Not sure I've ever checked prices of individual shipped items so sounds like acceptable price diff.

Joe I'm not saying you're wrong but when the last Ant-Man movie came out it was also north of $100 to pre-order when it first became available on Amazon and there was much gnashing of teeth and weeping about the high price (probably form me too!).

Here's what you said in that movie's thread:

I pulled up the invoice for my Amazon order for that film. The grand total for my order - including tracked shipping that was so fast I was watching the movie on release weekend - was $72.40.

Each movie is a little different of course but I've seen this to be a fairly consistent pattern where the YesAsia orders don't typically save people a lot, if any money.

Just noticed that AmazonJP seems to be allowing non-preorders again. When did that happen? Wouldn't mind combining The Marvels with Volcano and Little Voice to bring that combined shipping down.

Joe D is in a bit a unusual situation where no sales tax via YesAsia vs added Sales Tax with AmazonJp. I'm not sure how many states YesAsia can avoid the tax, but I think Amazon adds Sales Tax to almost every state now (assuming there is a state and/or local tax) plus sales tax on the shipping cost. New York tax ranges up to 9% depending on locality if memory serve

The one other thing I hate with Yesasia is the inability to order in local currency bumping my cost 3+% built in FOREX surcharge that I could avoid ordering in local currency with my CapOne CC.

Not that this applies to many here, but since I don't care about release day or even release month, grouping 3+ items at once with AmazonJp save me an additional $10-15 per item. Not that I'd want to repeat the reason for having to wait almost 18 months -- looking at my last order with the 5 catch up items, the cost of Ant-Man 3 was $51 (average cost for all 5 Marvel 3D was $47 ea). i nearly broke down a couple times an ordered from yesAsia or AmazonUS Global Store, but the best price I remember for getting all 5 via Yesasia was $330+USD vs the $230 I ended up at AmazonJp after they resumed shipping.
