The 3D conversion in Captain Marvel 3D? 10/10 for 3D layering in strong 3D depth for much of that film. Definitely one of the best Marvel 3D conversions among a number of great conversions.

At this point, I hope we can get the same level of strong 3D with this film, but not sure if the same team is working on it. Some producers might opt for milder 3D to save on their budget. But we'll see hopefully with a 3D trailer soon.

The movie, I have to learn more about it in a 2nd trailer.

After i heard a lot of negative expectations due to the maybe unfavorable selected promotion material out there before, the new trailer really makes me think this could be a lot of fun in 3D, if the conversion is done right, like the first one.

This unexpectedly hits my "most wanted 3D" list today

If the 3D looks as good in the final film of Marvels, I'll check this out in 3D theaters. For the trailers in theaters, I was seeing medium to strong 3D layers. It looked really good in 3D.

sadly the IMAX 3D is a lie - The Marvels lost all IMAX screens to Dune II, since they moved it to Nov.

IMAX can't double up on films?

Dune 2021 seared my retinas with its constant dark-to-"HDR1000"-white cuts, seeing the sequel on Imax could burn like getting LASIK.

We are looking at Feb 2024, 6 months from now. We Just hope what Disney is doing to Australia and some other Asian markets does not reaches Japan too in the next 6 months. What makes me more concerned is that this is too close to the release of the Apple VR-AR headset, don't want it to be an exclusive to that platform.

Yeah with the whole Australia thing it seems like the writing is well and truly on the wall and nothing is guaranteed now.

I fear so that Australia is a "test market" for killing ALL physical media worldwide. Just praying this very expensive 3D discs are still a thing with the next Marvel movies.

Maybe this Disney CEO thinks you can "force" people to use Disney+ to be a big success streaming service. This will not work. People love collecting discs. People use both ways simultaneously. So why cut off the physical revenue?! Digital only strategy will only bring people to pirate that content more than ever before. Whatever Disneys CEOs plan is, don't forget people will vote with their wallet...

To your point, my household is not buying Disney+. Why? The internet is not reliable due to us being in a 120 yr. old house in a dense urban neighborhood - sometimes we get a stronger signal from our neighbors than from our own router, and none of the providers (we've switched several times) can fix it. Also, we do not want it. I don't need to watch Cars again (when it seemingly was on a loop when our son was young). So, I will vote with my wallet as you recommend.

the sky is not falling. calm down.

"Australian YouTube content creator Dave Lee has been actively discussing Disney's plans to halt physical sales. "I'll be very candid about home media in Australia. It's doing terribly," Lee said in a letter posted on his Twitter account*on July 26, 2023. "Almost no one I know in real life buys physical, the physical 'collectors' online are a very, very small bubble ... it's been dire straits out here for a while. This has been a long time coming ... doesn't mean it doesn't suck."

Lee said he could see the news coming in July 24 tweet*after he learned from Australian retailer Sanity that it would no longer carry physical media. Lee also noted in his July 26 letter, "Retailers are constantly having physical 'clearance' sales" and that "Disney is a regular participant in 'clearances.'"

it's purely an Australian issue. Plus OZ is so far away it probably costs a ton to ship to/from there. I know when I order something from OZ it takes like a month to get to me in Chicago.

Ok, than this should be really only an Australia problem.

Otherwise it would make no sense that a Disney+ streaming only movie like the Predator Spinoff was announced for physical media.
