I think that was played more for comedic effect. I love that Judy let him get close enough, that she could dump a glass of water on his head.
"Go and hang on to your joystick." ![]() Of course, by the time the movie ends, West has proven his worth to Judy, and she gladly kisses him for it. "This one's on credit." ![]() |

Still a shame that the Bill Mumy and Jonathan Harris appearances didn’t pan out, to complete all surviving cast members being a part of it. I think Bill Mumy’s suggestion to play the older Will Robinson was a great idea.
From IMDb: Originally, all surviving cast members of the TV show were meant to have cameo appearances. Dick Tufeld reprises his role from Lost in Space (1965) as the voice of the Robot. Mark Goddard, the original Major Don West, plays the General. June Lockhart, the original Maureen Robinson, plays Will Robinson's principal. Marta Kristen and Angela Cartwright, the original Robinson girls, play reporters. Ironically, Bill Mumy and Jonathan Harris, the two actors most supportive of the idea of a new movie (as well as the two most popular characters on the show), did not appear in it. Mumy wanted to play the older Will Robinson but the director thought it would be too distracting from the plot to have the original Will play the older Will. Harris was to have played the man who hired, then betrayed, Dr. Smith. In an interview for "TV Guide" prior to the film's release, it was mentioned that Harris bluntly stated, "I will have you know I have never done a walk-on or bit part in my life! And I do not intend to start." He announced that if he could not play his own role in the movie, he wanted nothing to do with it - famously being quoted as saying "Either I play Doctor Smith, or I do not play." He did return as Dr. Smith in a one-hour TV special Lost in Space Forever (1998). |

I happen to be a fairly big fan of this movie. It was a more modern version when compared to the original 1960’s TV series (the TV series Robot was a role model for modern day AI programs and people that want to be a robot when they grow up).
This Lost in Space movie was shot on 35mm film and should have received an 8K or 4K scan of the original camera negative. Only improvement over the 9-7-2010 2K Blu-ray release is that the new Shout factory 2K Blu-ray has one new bonus feature. https://shoutfactory.com/collections...40485121327238 https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Lost-...-Blu-ray/9458/ |

It appears Apollo Four Forty Lost In Space Music Video bonus feature has been deleted from this release. And in its place a new set of interviews. So one is replacing one bonus feature for a different bonus feature. But overall the same lossless 5.1 DTS-HD Master audio and same video quality unless the new 2K scan does a better job.

HDR would probably do wonders for this movie's ancient CGI. Shame it's only on BD. I'd even take a UHD of the 2k scan with HDR on it.

I don't even remember if I saw this in the theater, or it was a pack in for my first DVD player. But I thought the plot was "ok enough" given the entire premise of LIS. The creature was really amazing IMO. But, I don't think the effects are going to hold up to 4K, but maybe HDR would be nice even at 2k. All the monster scenes seemed kind of soft to me. Maybe I'll buy this.

You can't have HDR at 2k on disc Blu ray doesn't support it. Literally would be no difference since it's all shown at 4k on any new screen upscaled or native. The effects in this film will look bad in any resolution, some of them looked bad when it came out, especially that kid's pet. Compared to a film like The Frighteners it just looked like a cartoon.

Because it was 20th Century Fox which was already neglecting most TV releases and cutting of releases for one's that had prior releases on Blu-ray. Then they got bought by Disney who is even worse with TV on blu-ray.

I'm skeptical because Shout Factory doesn't give any information about when the scans were made, by Warner and whether the finished transfers were approved by the director or cinematographer. |

In contrast, Lost in Space already looks like a 2K scan from the interpositive, pay attention to the color grading. |
