The rights to the Lassgård Wallander films on home media is a bit unclear. They have been released to DVD in the past by at least four different companies. SF Studios, Buena Vista, Pan Vision and Sandrew Metronome.

Yeah, I've been waiting years for them to give us a complete series boxset, but no luck.

Is there any Scandinavian website still selling Wallander Collector's Box on blu ray that ships internationally?

I think Ginza ships to most of the EU.

Unfortunately not, they only ship to Denmark, Finland and Germany.

You could try imusic, which is where I bought my copy. I believe they ship worldwide, from Denmark:

D'oh! I didn't check if it was in stock, sorry about that!

One other shop I have used is Laserdisken, also in Denmark, but their site is only in Danish (although they can reply to e-mails in English), so you might need automatic translation to sign up for an account. They may also be a bit more expensive than imusic.

They say they have one copy in stock right now:

So you understand Swedish? If all else fails, I can help you obtain a copy.

This looks promising, I'm checking it out later on today, thanks!

No, I don't
But for certain shows I'd love to watch, and for which I have lost hope to see an English-friendly release (Arrow was pretty much the only European label that bothered with that sort of product), I've resigned myself to: buy the discs > rip them to file > extract subs > translate them to English > voilà!
I have just bought the French boxset of 'Engrenages', which I feared was about to go OOP too.

Thank you for your offer. If I can't manage to get a copy on my own maybe you can help me out

EDIT: thank you all, it looks like I've made it on Laserdisken, 96 Euro inc. shipping. Now the boxset is unavailable there too. Finger crossed it makes it here in one piece!

p.s. I did have a tiny bit of initial difficulty registering: it kept asking me to insert the 'city', but I struggled to find the inherent field ('by', as I've found out soon after), because it was not marked as 'necessary'!

I've been looking for this set too. I'll be in Copenhagen later in the year so maybe there is a store there that stocks it. And possibly I'll have time to take the train to Malmo so thats another option.

Looks like a great set. After years of waiting for an Arrow Blu-ray release, with their last promo I had come this close to buying all of the Wallander DVD sets. Luckily, not all those DVDs were on sale/in stock, which ultimately stopped me. I would have spent not much less than this Blu-Ray boxset, but with a massive difference in quality in favor of the latter, from what I've been reading.
I'll handle the subs issue the first chance I get

I already have the dvds so I can extract the subs from those. And my modded UB820 supports external subs too.

I'm glad you were able to grab a copy! Enjoy; it's a great series. I'm sorry you had to pay that much for it, though. I purchased a copy as well, along with a couple other Swedish series (Bron and Jägarna films and series). I did study Swedish for many years, but this was a long time ago. But I'm hopeful that I'm still able to follow and enjoy the show with Swedish subtitles. I think I should be fine.

Just FYI: The subtitles on at least some of the Arrow DVDs are burned in, so they can't be copied, since they are part of the video.

Yeah, that wasn't cheap but wasn't terribly expensive either, for a 16 disc set shipped internationally, and not that easy to get ahold of either. I won't complain

Besides, if the subs could be ripped, even the slightest difference in running time between DVD and BD will turn into a syncing nightmare (speaking from experience).

Got the boxset today.
Guys, the transfer on these discs is nothing short of spectacular!
I feel for those who settled for the mediocre DVD release, and I'm so relieved I didn't go for those Arrow sets. This is a ton of beautifully shot and transferred movies.
I have no idea when I'll make time to extract/convert the much-needed subtitles, but for now, I'm so happy I got a copy.

This set is sold in Sweden, Norway and Denmark. The same box. So, I guess it is "easier" for them to have the front of the box in English.
