The Bad Guys 2 (2025)

The Bad Guys are looking to make trouble at the 2025 box office. Universal and DreamWorks Animation have set The Bad Guys 2 for an Aug. 1, 2025 release in theaters.

It’s a sequel to the 2022 film and once again stars Sam Rockwell as Mr. Wolf, Marc Maron as Mr. Snake, Craig Robinson as Mr. Shark, Anthony Ramos as Mr. Piranha and Awkwafina as Ms. Tarantula, aka “Webs.” Others stars include Zazie Beetz as Diana Foxington, Richard Ayoade as Professor Marmalade, Alex Borstein as police chief Misty Luggins and Lilly Singh as Tiffany Fluffit.

According to the logline, “The Bad Guys are struggling to find trust and acceptance in their newly minted lives as Good Guys, when they are pulled out of retirement and forced to do ‘one last job’ by an all-female squad of criminals.”

Pierre Perifel returns to direct with Damon Ross once again producing. JP Sans steps up to co-direct after serving as head of character animation. Daniel Pemberton is scoring the feature. The original The Bad Guys earned $250.4 million at the box office. (The Hollywood Reporter)

I still need to see the original. It looked interesting and kind of a newer idea, focused on villains and how they try to be good or something. I guess the Despicable Me series inspired this series potentially.

Newly rated by the MPA... a new Bad Guys theatrical short "Little Lies and Alibis"
Rated PG for mild rude humor.

I would NOT be surprised if this is theatrically attached to Dog Man coming up in January to promote the August release of this film

The first trailer for this was just rated by the Alberta Film Ratings board and should be coming VERY soon, possibly to be theatrically attached to Wicked or Moana 2

Looks like the trailer for this is playing in front of early access screenings of Wicked. It is NOT up online as of yet so unknown on if it's a theater exclusive

While it’s not a hugely surprising direction to take the sequel in, it looks like plenty more hilarious hijinks and highly creative visuals are on the way. Can’t wait!
