Default UK users, Play.com

Hi,
Being an Australian and sharing a region with the UK I have been surfing the net to see what online stores there are in the UK that I could potentially order from. I went to play.com and in there blu ray section they have a lot of blu ray titles up for pre-order more then I had heard where announced. My question is how reliable are they?
For example they have the following up which up to now I hadn't hear of being announced

Gangs Of New York (Blu-ray) 13/11/2006
Brokeback Mountain (Blu-ray) 13/11/2006
The Patriot (Blu-ray) 4/12/2006
As Good As It Gets (Blu-ray) 4/12/2006
Snatch (Blu-ray) 4/12/2006
and even this
Gandhi (Blu-ray) 12/2/2007

I'm hesitant to believe this, as they also have Spy Game up fo.r preorder, I thought that was a Universal Pictures one but I could be wrong.

Any comments you can provide would be good

Thanks.

Play.com is a reliable company, IMO. They are well established and trusted in the UK.

Some Universal titles will be on Blu-ray overseas due to who has control of distribution for certain countries. You will also see a few Blu-ray exclusive movies on HD-DVD in other countries.

I ordered several items (DVDs and Games) from Switzerland and never had any problem. They once replaced a broken DVD case, they even paid the return fee...yes I know it's called "service" but not every seller knows this nowadays ;-)

But concerning the pre-order, I don't know how reliable their information is.

I've used Play.com for years now and am very happy with them, they tend to be pretty reliable with their "coming soon" range, and it's worth noting that they won't charge you until the item has been despatched.

They can only base their release dates on what their suppliers tell them, so it's possible that some of the release dates could change.

I'd have no hesitation recommending them though.
