Grotesque Is Too Grotesque for Viewers.

EDIT: I have to add that this is what bugs me about production studios who cut up foreign or domestic films to make it less of a "bad taste" to the public. A perfect example is the final scene in Drunken Master II when Jackie Chan gives that weird facial expression at the end of the movie to show that he has become mentally handicapped due to the drinking of industrial alcohol. It was cut from the U.S. release because it was deemed "bad taste" in America, even though it was supposed to be a funny scene.

Here is a funny story that occurred to me. My Pops was in Saudi Arabia for a week (to present a new medical tech using an Intelligent computer during surgery) I was bored so I happened to purchase Ghostbusters 2 the version I saw was beyond confusing because of the very definition of whats appropriate and what's not according to the country's law (The Tub coming alive wasn't there for one because Sigourney Weaver was undressing , two how the baby ended up at the museum of course because Rick Moranis was flirting with the secretary while babysitting, three when Bill Murray was changing the baby's diapers at the beginning of the movie because it was an inappropiate behavior while playing with the kid) The result I was like what just happened. confused the crap out of me.

Just because Grotesque was banned in the UK, doesn't mean it should be banned in the USA all I got to say this is actually an unacceptable act of censorship/banning it wasn't as if we are watching porn or whatever.

Just because a movie is gruesome doesn't mean you have to react that way by banning it. if so then WWE, Real Life, News (yes like CNN, FOX, books ETC..) Should be banned as well since I got a problem with education/entertainment.

They do believe it or not. By far I have Ghostbusters 2, The Mask, and what's even more amazing an hour and 20 mins Titanic DVD that I got from there (the movie was seriously an hour and 20 minutes everything between when Winslet met Dicap was just edited down to the moment the Ice berg hits the ship). I have a serious issue with censorship, I guess sometimes its okay to admit why East don't always have to agree with the West but for me this is crossing the line.

It wasn't just because it was "too grotesque" but because there was barely a plot and minimal character development.

Banned in the UK is typical. Euro counties have the tendancy to ban or severly restrict Violence and not Sex in films. The U.S. is just the oppostite. We love and crave our violence it would seem, but hey... You Can't show that breast! This is America for God's sake!

i'm sorry but i'm a movie watcher like some of you guys here. what i don't get is "THIS MOVIE IS BANNED" because of the graphic nature. i say, so what! if its too much for u don't watch it, its really that easy. the first BANNED movie i ever heard of and saw was: "KIDS and DEAD RINGERS". why, i have no ideal why i've seen movies far far worst then these two films. here in Phila. we have 3 theaters that will still show movies that was banned from the big name theaters. i think its stupid to banned movies u go to a theater and u pay a lot of money. so why pay all this money to see a movie thats been cut, hacked editted to all be damned and then wait 3 months for some corny Unrated version that don't really make a difference.

like what was so Unrated about Friday the 13th. i saw it in the theater and didn't notice nothing on the dvd. whoever these wack jobs are who rate the movies need not. people get more curious when they hear the word "banned". like me i wanna know but i use caution when i go buy it. i do a search first cause its one movie i want to see thats been banned "almost" throughout the world - Cannailbal holocaust (may spelled wrong) but u know what i'm talking about. the reviews scared me and i can take anything. BB has this movie and i just couldn't buy it.

but this movie here "G" just look bloody and u can really see the action i would love to have this film they need to put it in english...

Couldn't have said it better. That is the exact problem I have with such statements.

They may as well:

1. Ban BBC for telling the NEWS.
2. WWE for unnecessary violence (although its acting).
3. Dreamworks for releasing such movies like all the Shreks for having such a bad influence on children.
4. Books since its educating people.

Not to that very description you just provided. Otherwise, kids would have a blast with this sneaking in to watch the film if its ever released in the US.

There has to be a means of control such as editing, as long as its done like every other movie we know of.
