Most around here, myself included, will recommend you look to Panasonic.

What he said.

I would look here,
http://www.us-appliance.com/panasonichdtvs.html

Right now you can get an additional 10% back when going through Bing cash back.
http://www.bing.com/shopping/pages/s...ack&FORM=R5FD1

I have priced several models for friends and bought another one for my parents and can't beat there prices anywhere at the moment.

The V10 seems to be around $2k.

Probably more helpful to steer him towards something that would be within' the price range he is looking for.

The Panasonic TC-P50G15 can be had for $1,151 delivered after 10% Bing cash back a my link above.

That's a nice display at a fantastic price. It's basically a G10 in a slimmer case, so everything that's true for the G10 (specs, reviews) will be true for the G15.

Nugent's recommendation is the way I would go. There's nothing wrong with the other two sets, but this is definitely the best one for the money.

What is your budget? Sears has the LG 60ps60 for $1859.99.

I bought myself the Samsung just a little while ago. I too would go for a Panasonic, but I snagged the Samsung for 500 dollars off when 6th avenue electronics was having the name your price event so I HAD to do it.

Still, it looks absolutely great.
