Nope, it's done by seamless branching, so only those extra scenes look outstanding.

Which region blu-ray do you have? Paramount (Region A) or Universal (Region B).

Both the Region A and Region B releases use seamless branching as the film is on the first disc of the set.

You know everyone mad about the quality should really be voicing their thoughts to universal/paramount.... studios have listened to us before maybe they will again

According to the screen caps, the extended scenes look fantastic. I guess that the transitions will look strange.

That is correct. PAramount has reserved the Sapphire series for its best movies. Forrest Gump will be next in line for a Sapphire treatment.

Question.

If there's a replacement program for a movie I imported from Europe(lets say universal) and I live in the US will they still send it to you?

Paramount tends to have some of my favorite films (not as much as WB, though). I hope they release more Sapphire Series releases after Forrest Gump.

No.

That title is only authorized for sale, rent, and loan in the EU so once it leaves the EU, the studio does not have to replace the title. You'd have to have someone in the UK accept for you and that person can do the exchange.

I will be purchasing both on the same day. Both are great movies. William Wallace just continues the theme of freedom that Maximus started...

Based on what I'm hearing, maybe I'll rent them both first to see if I'm happy with the transfer. Not gonna waste $40 on crappy releases.

Apart from supposedly a few specks the Braveheart transfer is glorious, a sure buy for me.

The Braveheart disc is a great example of how to correctly do a High Definition release, Gladiator unfortunately is the exact opposite.
