Warner Bros Tag 4K UHD (2018)

Warner will be releasing Tag on 4K UHD on October 22nd! This will be a MOD distributed release. I'll post more details soon.

Quote:
For one month every year, five highly competitive friends hit the ground running in a no-holds-barred game of tag they've been playing since the first grade risking their necks, their jobs and their relationships to take each other down with the battle cry: "You're It!" This year, the game coincides with the wedding of their only undefeated player, which should finally make him an easy target. But he knows they're coming and he's ready. Based on a true story, Tag shows how far some guys will go to be the last man standing.

Interesting how many of these WB movies made in the last 15-ish years have been coming out this year. Definitely a good thing, especially as I wouldn't have expected most of these to make the jump with how slow WB has been with 4k catalog titles.

Just personally speaking, I found both to be rather enjoyable. More so than I had initially thought they were going to be / deserved to be. Credit to the cast in both, as they really helped bring everything together.

I will be looking in to purchasing this, and Game Night, but I will say that Game Night might just have the edge, purely due to Jesse Plemons and what he brought to his role.

This is a pretty decently fun ride. Will upgrade eventually. Still need to get the Game Night 4K, as that's one of my favorite recent studio comedies. I'd be stoked as he'll if Warner did The Nice Guys next!

A great release of a not-at-all guilty pleasure of mine! Happy to add this one to my collection.

For whatever reason it didn't have that option when I published it, but it's fixed now.

I’m glad this got a 4K release but I wished it came with a digital copy.

Still trying to process why/how all this middling Noughties catalogue stuff of theirs is worthy of 100GB DV treatment while so many recognised classics continue to get neither. (I dunno if these are MOD or what but that doesn't make much sense re: MOD's low print run being used to justify the extra expense because they press so few units of 'main' releases they might as well be MOD anyway, aside from not having a cover that looks like it was printed on a crappy inkjet. Maybe that's where all the money goes? )

The priorities are truly weird. It's great that the MOD releases get this kind of treatment though (not going to complain when they actually get things right). I might actually buy this one since I haven't seen it and it seems like a decent comedy, based on reviews.

Ahh, gotcha! That is crazy!

Give the good stuff the good treatment (nothing against Tag - I remember liking it okay). Heck, I wouldn’t mind seeing all movies get 100 gb and DV (I know that’s not necessary for every film though).

Tag is a recognized classic around these parts, good sir

I get you, though. More than likely it's because of the low overhead from using 4K/DV sources already created for streaming platforms. They're low-risk releases that will hopefully lead to bigger and better ones.

Yeah but Warners master their HDR stuff in DV at source like every other major studio does.

In that case, I assume someone at WB got a new dartboard for their birthday earlier this year.
