The Complete Thin Man Collection Blu-ray

Quote:
Coming from the Warner Archive Collection on November 26th!

THE COMPLETE THIN MAN COLLECTION (1934-47)
A 6 DISC SET (all BD-50s)
B&W
Aspect ratio: 16x9 1.37:1
Audio: DTS HD MA 2.0 MONO
Subtitles English SDH

Starring William Powell and Myrna Loy

Now they're together in one Blu-ray collection! The sparkling M-G-M series featured the irresistible William Powell and Myrna Loy chemistry as husband and wife who solved murders with the aid of their wire-haired terrier, Asta. Set in the glamorous world of 1930s and 40s upper-class Manhattan, The Thin Man and its sequels established a timeless standard for witty comedy, clever dialogue and urbane one upmanship. The 6-Disc set includes THE THIN MAN (1934), AFTER THE THIN MAN (1936), ANOTHER THIN MAN (1939), SHADOW OF THE THIN MAN (1941), SONG OF THE THIN MAN (1944) and THE THIN MAN GOES HOME (1947). Each film has been meticulously remastered and restored for Blu-ray, from 4K scans of the best surviving preservation elements. Additionally, each feature in the collection is accompanied by its original theatrical trailer, plus vintage short subjects and animated cartoons to help re-create the way these films were first presented in theaters upon their original release. It’s an essential collection of screen classics that belong in every serious film lover’s library.

Worth it if it saves some space.

Thank you because my first thought was "well I have to buy it to save shelf space" and then my second thought was "I'm nuts"

I'm sort of surprised this came out as a collected set. I have all the individual releases, but it would be nice to have them all together...

IIRC, WAC specifically said they had no plans to release a franchise/box set in the future, so I bought these individually. Would have gladly waited if I knew this was coming.

Each film takes time and money to scan and restore, so there was no way they could have done that.

I saved a lot of money buying the WBA collections instead of the individual releases. Just wished WBA put more out like a science fiction collection.

This release would save some space, but I was happy to buy them separately. Good films and I love the individual key art for the covers (especially for The Thin Man Comes Home).

Only own the first two, IIRC, so I guess I'll be listing those and buying this.

Haven’t gotten around to collecting these yet, so sometimes it pays to wait.

Wow, this is awesome! This more than makes up for Amazon losing my ordered copy of The Thin Man and having to refund me instead of replacing it!

They don't have 4K masters, they have 4K scans. Literally hundreds of films that were scanned in 4K, but mastering and restoration done in 2K/4K.

So these are just a combined package of the previous releases, correct? No new restoration work has been done on the films?
