I am wondering it final destination 2 and 3 are out on blu-ray in the U.S. because according to amazon there are "sign up to be notified pages" for both of these 2 movies and a order page for them as well.
which one is correct? |

Final Destination Canada is the same as the US release.
Final Destination 2 Canada is original aspect ratio with DTS-HD MA audio but zero extras. Final Destination 3 Canada is modified to fill widescreen televisions (sourced from the HDTV broadcast master) with DTS-HD MA audio and again zero extras. Its also just the theatrical presentation, no Choose Your Fate enhancement. You'd be best waiting for the US releases of the FD2 and FD3 as Warner will include most of the extras, if not all of them (with the New Line Infinifilm feature on FD2 renamed to Focus Points for copyright reasons) as well as the original aspect ratio for FD3. |

![]() Don't get me wrong. I enjoy 1 (which I already own on BD) and 3 but 2 is by far the very best. |

I think we can all agree that open matting is a better alternative to cropping, even if neither is truly desirable. Honestly, I wouldn't mind one bit if all 2.4:1 films were available on Blu-ray with an open matte WITH the ability to matte it to proper theatrical aspect ratio. Open matting without the option of original aspect ratio isn't very good, but if OAR is possible using a softcoded graphical matte, I think that's just fine. Here's hoping they do individuals too. I did not enjoy rebuying House of Flying Daggers just to get Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, I did not enjoy rebuying TMNT to get the live action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles films, and I am not looking forward to rebuying Silence of the Lambs to get Manhunter and Hannibal. |
