Default Is Final Destination 2 and 3 out in the U.S.?

I am wondering it final destination 2 and 3 are out on blu-ray in the U.S. because according to amazon there are "sign up to be notified pages" for both of these 2 movies and a order page for them as well.

which one is correct?

they will most likely be released to coincide with the theatrical or video
release of the upcoming FINAL DESTINATION 4

The US has the first one available from New Line and it's the only good one in the series anyway!

2 and 3 are available in Canada as Alliance releases and are Region A, but I cannot vouch for quality.

Final Destination Canada is the same as the US release.

Final Destination 2 Canada is original aspect ratio with DTS-HD MA audio but zero extras.

Final Destination 3 Canada is modified to fill widescreen televisions (sourced from the HDTV broadcast master) with DTS-HD MA audio and again zero extras. Its also just the theatrical presentation, no Choose Your Fate enhancement.

You'd be best waiting for the US releases of the FD2 and FD3 as Warner will include most of the extras, if not all of them (with the New Line Infinifilm feature on FD2 renamed to Focus Points for copyright reasons) as well as the original aspect ratio for FD3.

I much prefer part 2 over 1 and 3. That's the one I really want on BD

FD2 and FD3 both have excellent PQ, but FD3 has the wrong aspect ratio (it's open matte).

Probably because that's the one whose script originally started out as an "X-Files" episode, and 2-4's...didn't.

I have to say, FD4's music won't be the same without Shirley Walker composing. That was the only thing about FD2 & 3 I actually enjoyed.

What? She's not back? Why? Who'd they get to step in?

She died in 2006 unfortunately of a brain aneurism. I miss her presence in film, her score for Batman: Mask of the Phantasm is amazing, right up there with Elfman's Batman (1989) score if you ask me (which she conducted btw).

Wow. Really? I didn't know. I loved her scores and Batman: Mask of the Phantasm features some very excellent music from her.

Don't get me wrong. I enjoy 1 (which I already own on BD) and 3 but 2 is by far the very best.

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised to see a 1-4 boxset.

Brian Tyler is doing the music. He did the music for The Fast and the Furious, Bubba Ho-Tep, Children of Dune, and others). Tyler uses the original theme by Shirley Walker in his score.

Hopefully they'll put out a boxset of all the films when The Final Destination hits BD. That's the only reason why I haven't purchased the first film yet.

Is it open matte or is it cropped? I thought the non-OAR Alliance titles were all cropped.

I think we can all agree that open matting is a better alternative to cropping, even if neither is truly desirable. Honestly, I wouldn't mind one bit if all 2.4:1 films were available on Blu-ray with an open matte WITH the ability to matte it to proper theatrical aspect ratio. Open matting without the option of original aspect ratio isn't very good, but if OAR is possible using a softcoded graphical matte, I think that's just fine.

Here's hoping they do individuals too. I did not enjoy rebuying House of Flying Daggers just to get Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, I did not enjoy rebuying TMNT to get the live action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles films, and I am not looking forward to rebuying Silence of the Lambs to get Manhunter and Hannibal.

Se7en, Final Destination 3, A Man Apart, and the live-action sequences of Outlander has the mattes opened to 1.78:1.

The rest were cropped to 1.78:1 widescreen.
