Yeah I think Catching fire was the same, both US and UK used the same encode with banding. Maybe we should change the thread title to include Lionsgate and Studio Canal too?

Does anybody know if any of the following UK releases have any issues present with their transfers:

Drag Me To Hell - Lionsgate UK (Universal in the US)
Sin City - Lionsgate UK (Miramax in the US)
Sin City 2 (3D & 2D on separate disc) - Lionsgate UK (Starz Anchor Bay in the US)
Source Code - Studio Canal (Summit in the US)

I'm not sure to be honest mate, I think Sin City still uses the Disney master and is the same in most territories. It looks very good anyway. Source Code's UK disc has some weird audio menu glitch that resets the player on certain machines. I'm not sure about the other two. Generally if the regular members dump their UK copies and import then there's an issue and they'll usually post about the them in the movies thread.

Got the Arrival bluray sometime last year, and played it the other week, only to find it froze and skipped in several places. Inspection of the disc revealed multiple deep rotational scratches... Not sure how that even happens. Took it back to Fopp, and despite not having the receipt, they were really good and just swapped it out.
Got back home, checked the new disc, and it also has a couple scratches, albeit close to the edge. Unbelievable. Not sure yet if it affects playback but I'm not gonna wait to find out. How can quality be so poor?!

Looks like Universal has now taken over EOne’s home media distribution as they’ve just added a massive catalogue to the Zoom website. Was wondering how long it would take to happen.

Before they were distributed by Fox, weren’t they distributed independently themselves?

Zoom is also Paramount and Disney, and Disney own Fox, and Fox distribute eOne titles here, so maybe that’s why? But then, shouldn’t normal Fox releases also be sold on Zoom too now?

eOne is now owned by Hasbro! When was the last time we had a toy manufacturer enter the industry in this way? Of course there’s LEGO and Hasbro’s Allstar and you could technically count Nintendo but this seems different and unique.

Guess there’s no chance of The Last Daughter hitting Blu-ray or DVD now, sigh. There are some eOne titles on the theatrical horizon in the next few months, like Clifford, Fireheart, Distant, Easter Sunday and Phantom of the Open, I’m just not confident they’ll get discs. Not the first eOne title to have their theatrical release minimised or cancelled for a digital release, like with Love and Monsters and Happiest Season, and eOne had the UK rights for Finch besides Apple TV+ joined the picture.

This went very well, as eOne have exited UK theatrical distribution after releasing The Fabelmans, Dungeons & Dragons: Honour Among Thieves and The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry to UK cinemas this year. So I assume their last release will be the DVD of Harold Fry. Shame they didn’t do more catalogue titles except for the odd UHD for Looper, Ender’s Game, Warm Bodies and Sorcerer on BD. The Last Voyage of the Demeter has now dropped off the UK release calendar.

Lionsgate have now acquired eOne (deal closing in November), so I wonder if they will keep titles in print (they did reissue titles with the Lionsgate logo when they acquired Redbus during the 00s), or if the entire back catalogue will go OOP.

In what sense? There's a Blu-ray + DVD (and a re-release which seems to be a 1 disc but not sure) and a 3D Blu-ray from what I can see.

It's not the first time Hasbro have owned media or video game companies. They owned a cartoon maker or distributor in the 80's, might have been Sunbow.
