United Kingdom Entertainment One, Lionsgate, and StudioCanal releases

I recently picked up the UK eOne Blu-ray of Looper (tempted by the lenticular slip), and noticed more banding than I remember viewing on my US copy.

A friend of mine also informed me that the eOne Blu of 12 Years a Slave is also inferior to Fox's US version. That's just his opinion, I can't say since I only own the Fox disc.

Does anyone know if eOne uses previously existing transfers, or do they do it all themselves? I could very well be seeing things with this banding issue, but I just wanted to know if anyone else has noticed anything questionable about eOne's releases.

UPDATE:
Use this thread to discuss eOne, StudioCanal, and Lionsgate releases. Highlight any sub-par blu-rays you've purchased so others don't make the mistake
