Last time I checked New Line and Universal were separate entities. Although New Line's had their fair share of DNR issues, so we won't know for sure how LOTR will look until someone gets their hands on a copy.

I doubt a Warner Brothers release is being handled by the same people who did a Universal movie released by Paramount.

an inside source informed me that they plan on making it a DNR extraveganza, transferred in 720p res with a lossy 2.0 DD soundtrack. I say we burn down New Line and hogtie Peter Jackson's family. TONIGHT.

Bad news... apparently every Bluray ever made from now on is going to be handled by the same team as Gladiator. What's worse is the team has just created a firmware that once installed will go back and re-transfer already released titles that you own

When asked about the low quality of their work the team refused to give a real comment only saying that they are rubber and we a glue

Actually it will be handled by a stuidio that is worse... Warner Brothers.. because they Bought New Line.. so New Line is now Warner Brothers and they are by far the worse major studio and take the biggest shortcuts on releases.

Lets hope they do it right though..

New releases and classics films are two different departments handled by different people in Warner (and most other major studios I guess).
