Lord of the Rings Trilogy Blu-Ray?

Anyone know if a LOTR Blu-Ray thing is in the works.... I think that it would be the most incredible Blu-Ray.... EVER! lol. I would guess something may come out around the time the Hobbit movie releases..... any news would be amazing!

These movies are already in the works. The theatrical versions anyway. Heads people may jump down your throat for not searching first. There have been many posts in regards to this.

Never really was a fan of these, I might get them on Blu Ray and give them another shot. I recently got all 5 Harry Potter movies. About a month ago I would have made fun of someone with these movies in their collection but they turned out to be ok movies. So maybe the same will happen with LOTR.

Hi Brian,

I see you're a new member, so I thought, as a fellow BD nut, I'd share some other resources with you to help you in the future.

Some great sites (including this forum which you can search), are bluray.highdefdigest.com, releaselists.com, blu-raystats.com, avsforum.com.
I also have 2 threads in the Amazon form (Upcoming New Releases..and Price Reductions...), that you can "track", and receive an e-mail when I or someone else posts news on releases or sales. Around the web, there are also many other sites for Region Codes (blurayregioncodes.com), and others to help you if you shop for BD's from other countries, etc.

It's always better to search before posting a new thread, as there is a mix of people with different news sources and experience levels, so the admins try to minimize dup threads. Amazon.de has a set of Theatrical Steelbooks in BD, if you're into those, to be released in 12/2009.

The BD releases of LOTR for the 1st set, will be theatrical, with extended eds planned, possibly alongside "The Hobbit" theatrical release, once in theaters.

LOTR Blu-ray is in the work's I just bought the theatrical release 10 mins ago, I can't wait to check it out.
