I loved the Dark Knight but without Memento he would not have the name and the following to have gotten TDK in the first place. So thank god for Memento...

I've not seen all of his movies either, and although his Batman films are great Batman films, I don't think they're as valuable OVERALL as examples of great filmmaking (even in spite of being probably the best Batman features ever produced). I think the interesting take he did on Memento is a very worthwhile study in unique storytelling though.

But again, haven't seem 'em all yet, so I'm abstaining from voting. Only wish the TDK fanboys would show as much restraint.

Memento.

This is how I'd rate them on a scale of 100:

1. Memento (100/100...best film of the 2000's in my opinion)
2. The Prestige (94/100)
3. Batman Begins/The Dark Knight (90/100)
5. Following (85/100)
6. Insomnia (80/100)

I have seen all of them and am going with Batman Begins. Filmwise, I think Begins is beter than TDK though they are so close I sometimes switch back and forth.

Memento is an awesome film, great neo-noir with a unique style (unlike Pulp Fiction IMO over-rated). Insomnia, Prestige, and Following are also very good. I was surprised how crazy following was; it's easy to see why Memento was his next film.

The Prestige gets my vote. Memento is a close second followed by The Dark Knight and Batman Begins.

Wow, it is a tough choice between "TDK" and "Memento." And I loved "The Prestige" too.

Well, I had to go with TDK. It rocks.

I'm not voting because I honestly can't choose just one. I love Memento, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight and The Prestige all equally. Christopher Nolan is the best director working today!

Memento is his best. I love all his films though. I do think his version of Insomnia is watered down compared to the original though. Following is very good too. And of course his Batman Films and The Prestige are very well done.

1st off, i didn't know that nolan did insomnia!!! it was ok but i'd never watch it more than the 1x i already did.

memento was a great movie w/a great concept and i love the prestige but i voted for the dark knight b/c of the way he wrote the joker....simply one of the best characters i've ever seen on the big screen.

I went with Prestige. There is just something about that movie that is phenomenal...the way it incorporates the mistique of Tesla and looks at "magic", rivalry and obsession through various prisms.

I know most people loved Memento but it just fell flat for me. I very rarely like movies that use nonlinear time as a major plot device...I feel like if there's a story worth telling, it should hold the audience's attention even if told in a linear manner. Of course Prestige has its own nonlinear thing going on but that is mainly done through narration triggering different stages of the plot development. It was hugely effective in Prestige.

After Prestige I would probably go with Batman Begins and then Dark Knight.

TDK may win because of sheer popularity, but Memento pushed the thriller genre unlike TDK did to action, using non-linear story telling coupled with memory loss, thus withholding from the audience what was withheld from the character, a unique way to put the audience in his shoes. ALthough TDK is a good movie, IMO it just didn't push its genre as far.

Following is similar in this regard, a pre-Memento of sorts.

I'd rate them:

1. Memento
2. Following (close second)
3. The Prestige
4. Insomnia
5. Batman Begins/TDK
