Richard Christies favorite band.....

I kept hearing people say stuff about "9" and thought they were talking about some movie called "District 9" or something..... shoot... this is the first time I've seen anything about this movie.... as with everything though, I'll wait for it to hit video.... I hope it's very "Dark" we'll see.

Excellent. Not an American-cookie-cutter movie at all. It's a very simple survival story, yet it succeeded at making me care about the characters, a lot. Kind of a balls-to-the-wall thriller right from the opening scene. I found it darker and scarier than Coraline. Geared much more toward adult audiences than little kids. Animation, "cinematography", sound design and the score were all awesome. Elfman was involved, but it didnt have that patented Elfman sound...at all. The details in the sound design were breathtaking, really. Fabrics rubbing, leather wrinkling, metal bumping, breathing. Reference stuff. There are a few events in the film that some folks may find "odd", but they really worked for me. Big screen? Yes. :-)

A+ all the way.

Thanks for the quick review. Will be checking it out this weekend. Was hoping that it would be something fairly "dark".

Be warned. The story is very simple. That didnt bother me because I dug the characters so much. Everything else was flawless and epic. It deserves its PG13 rating. No bad language, gore or sex, but some of the violence is intense.

Yes. IMHO. I would error on the side of caution. I wish I could explain, but I cant without spoiling stuff.

If this were live action, done well, an adult movie-goer could be upset about certain events.
