Urban Legend is actually a franchise that could benefit with a reboot considering the internet and social media weren't around for the original films.

This could be interesting. The original was a very "second fiddle tier" slasher of its era. Outside of late 90s nostalgia, it's not that great. A reboot could be an improvement if done well.

Neal Moritz...I don't know who he is, but I've seen that name forever. He's been around so long, he's rebooting his own movies from the 90s lol

All these types of movies were popular years ago, but their time has passed. If they want to remake it, it has to be something different with new ideas for it to work.

I haven't seen the Urban Legend movies since the early 2000s. That was a long time ago. I barley remember em. Only things I remember were the horror cameos, or whatever, and the tub scene. Those who seen the original know what I'm talking about. Bits and pieces as well (no pun intended), but too vague to describe them.

This is probably the 3rd or 4th time they announced a reboot. Then even had the two lead cast members lined up last time.

With the MCU dead and comicbook films being made fun of en masse it seems like the new hotness is remaking every single horror adjacent film that had any success in the 1990s. I can't wait for the Jawbreaker remake!
