Default Kill, Baby... Kill! (Kino Lorber)

Surprised that a thread does not exist for this title. I just watched this gem this afternoon for the umpteenth time. It is one of my favorite Bava films. Kino issued a region A Blu-ray in 2017, shortly after Arrow released a region B UK Blu-ray. I own both releases, and the Arrow disc, despite being listed as region B, appears to be region-free (or at least region A unlocked).

Both editions have been out of print for some time now, and I've been quietly hoping for a 4K, though I seem to remember a rights issue preventing further releases (through Kino at least). Am I misremembering?

I believe that (per Kino) the rights’ holder to this and a number of other Mario Bava movies released by Kino and Arrow want an astronomical amount of money to relicense them, which is why this and a number of others have gone out of print from both companies.

Shout Factory, per the US Copyright site, has the Bava titles that were with Kino.

We really need a 4K release of this which includes the proper complete opening sequence instead of it merely being included as an extra.

Was hoping with Arrow's excellent 4K of BLOOD AND BLACK LACE that they were going to start a new series a la Dario Argento, but it hasn't panned out...yet.

Wow, interesting—wonder if we'll get 4Ks from them in the future.

I'm still waiting for a decent release of this with the pre-title sequence included at the start of the film.
There hasn't been a good enough release as of yet, so I'm still with my Anchor Bay box set dvd, which isn't exactly great.

Yep. The Arrow Blu could have been the one, but they fumbled the ball by not putting the complete opening sequence in the film proper.

It's annoying, I only got into these movies just as they went out of print so missed all these releases the first time around. Managed to snag the older arrow blood and black lace just before the newer one came out (and shock) but none of the others have been redone.
At least we got planet of the vampires recently.

Well, hallelujah. It looks like a huge Bava box set is coming from Scream Factory, which will include Kill, Baby…Kill!.
