Default Um guys!!!!!

I'm kind of freaking out right now. I placed an order on movieposter.com for two posters. One that I ordered was Halloween (Rob Zombie's version) but they sent me the poster for the original Halloween. So I was just checking on the website to see what the first one is worth and http://ca.movieposter.com/poster/MPW...Halloween.html

I'm pretty sure that the one I got isnt an original because it's in mint shape, no creases or nothing. But the thing that boggles me is that you can't buy a reprinted version on the site anywhere. Only the original for that particular poster. I'm gonna take a pic in a second and post it up.

Reprints do exist, so it could be a reprint that they haven't added yet. I'm not sure how to tell the difference, though.

i just did a search about fake movie posters, and it says that the originals will always say, made in the U.S.A. on the bottom, and mine has that. It also says that there will be a little logo of the company that made it, mine has that. Than it says that the text will be grainy or blurry on a reprint, mine is crystal clear. I'm starting to think that this is original. They are going to make me give it back I know they are.

I only collect original movie posters so that one looks like an original to me (based on the photo you posted). Does it have numbers on the right side or left side such as 50/340 meaning it is #50 out of a total of only 340 printed (the numbers I'm using are just an example and not actually the numbers for a Halloween original)? If YES, then you definitely own yourself an ORIGINAL worth as much as that site indicates (at least for that site - the actual value might vary @ other places - I'm only mentioning this because I own an original Jaws and the prices posted for that one range all over the place on different sites). And if so, I TOTALLY ENVY YOUR LUCK!!

If they ask for it back, tell them they have to bend over and bite down on a stick first.

im just wondering if they can legally take it back from me. I mean I received this about a month ago and just opened it up today. There policy is that if you need to exchange a poster it must be within 5 days.

I want to check for numbers but it is rolled up again in the tube. I don't want to take it out and damage it. I'll let you guys know how this turns out, thanks for your help.

I'm trying to find out some concrete information on the original release of the 1978 Halloween poster. It is quite possible that there is a stamp on the bottom somewhere or on the back with the numbers "78-736". That is an NSS number that is used for original theater posters. Just so you know, pre mid 80s, most posters were delivered folded and not rolled to theaters. Not all of the original Halloween posters would have the "78-736" stamped on them, only the ones that were returned from the original run of the film, and then returned for future releases. NSS did not stamp the original run of Halloween.

Here is a link to a folded original Halloween poster... http://www.cinemasterpieces.com/apic...halloeen09.jpg

If they did send you an original, you have a poster that is easily worth $1,000.

No, they can't.

US mail order law specifically states that if a company mails you something without your permission, you can keep it. If it turns out to be an authentic poster, you didn't request an authentic one, so it's a gift.

I belonged to a book club like 10 years ago, and even though I canceled my membership in writing, and have a letter from them confirming the cancellation, AND wrote them three letters explaining their error, they kept sending me books every month for like 5 years. I kept 'em all.

The Spider-Man 2 poster I ordered from them (check my gallery) was actually an original glossy double-sided theatrical poster. Not bad for $12.

I was going to mention this site as well but more specifically: http://learnaboutmovieposters.com/po...r.asp?pid=4065

and:

http://www.cinemasterpieces.com/cinearticles.htm. Apparently, unfortunately and according to this site, the Halloween one-sheet is one of many posters which "have been reprinted or faked over the years." As they indicate, some fakes and reprints are easy to spot and some are not. Hope this helps.

Send a PM to Kinsella5. He's a regular poster in the Posters thread and he's a poster dealer who only deals in original prints. He'll be able to tell you if it's original or not.

k I sent Kinsella a message and checked out those websites. So I'm just waiting now. The thing that I can't understand is why would movieposter.com ship it to me when they don't even offer a reprint on their site? Ill check back in later today after work. Thanks

Also I checked the back and there is no number on the back. Nothing at all on the back.
